The 2023 Lincoln Corsair gets a refresh but remains a midpack choice
The Corsair is the smallest and most affordable vehicle in Lincoln’s 2023 lineup, measuring about 8.5 inches shorter nose to tail than the Nautilus. As with most Lincoln vehicles, the Corsair shares many of its underpinnings with Ford vehicles, in this case, the Ford Escape.
For 2023, the Corsair underwent a styling refresh, with a larger grille and new headlights. On the inside, a new digital instrument panel and larger touchscreen debuted, as did Lincoln Blue Cruise, an automated highway driving system. Adaptive cruise was added as standard for all models and the midrange 2.3-liter engine was discontinued.
The 2023 Lincoln Corsair competes in the small luxury SUV class against the likes of the Genesis GV70, BMW X3, and Acura RDX. It’s not as luxurious or sporty as these class leaders, but the available plug-in hybrid helps to improve the Corsair’s chances.

What We Like
Ample comfort: All Corsair models benefit from a calm and quiet cabin on the highway. With the available adaptive suspension, road imperfections are well smoothed over yet the SUV can also corner with confidence. The standard 10-way adjustable front seats are well cushioned, and the optional 24-way adjustable seats ensure even the pickiest of occupants will be well served.
Powerful and efficient plug-in hybrid available: The Corsair’s base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 250 horsepower and is estimated to get 25 mpg in combined city and highway driving.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain that comes with the top Grand Touring model is good for 266 hp and is EPA-estimated to return 28 miles of electric-only propulsion on a single charge. Once the battery is depleted, it is estimated to get 33 mpg combined.Comprehensive suite of driver-assist features: Every Lincoln Corsair comes with the Co-Pilot360™ suite of driver-assist features that includes forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control, and evasive steering assistance. In many of its rivals, some of these features are either options or require you to step up to higher trim levels. Lincoln’s Blue Cruise automated driving system is also one of the best in the industry.
What Needs Improvement
Base engine lacks refinement: The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine supplies adequate power to get the Corsair to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, but doing so reveals its rather coarse sounds. This is exacerbated by the transmission that occasionally shifts roughly as well as some odd clunks through the drivetrain. Rivals are generally quieter and smoother.
