Second generation Lincoln Nautilus
The introduction of the new Nautilus in 2024 brought many changes that elevated the five-passenger crossover to a new level of luxury. Larger in every dimension than its predecessor, the second-generation Nautilus features a roomy, elegant cabin that’s comfortable for front and rear passengers. The most notable change was the debut of the Lincoln Digital Experience, featuring a 48-inch panoramic display incorporating a digital gauge cluster and configurable panels to present a variety of pertinent vehicle information. Almost all physical controls were eliminated, and a central 11.1-inch display with a Google-based infotainment system became the primary interface.
The second-generation Lincoln Nautilus features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine teamed with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. Performance is adequate, but the Nautilus doesn’t feel particularly powerful. A more efficient hybrid powertrain is also offered, which we cover separately. The updated Nautilus was also available for the first time with BlueCruise, which allows the driver to operate it hands-free on designated limited-access freeways.

First generation Lincoln Nautilus
When Lincoln updated its five-passenger MKX crossover in 2019, not only did the SUV get a fresh look, it also got a new name: Nautilus. The new Nautilus took styling cues from the Continental and Navigator, helping it blend into the current lineup. Inside, it featured an upscale cabin with an extensive standard equipment list that included Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® as well as an eight-inch touchscreen display that was upgraded to 13.2 inches in 2023. The top-level Nautilus Reserve boasted high-end features like massaging front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a 19-speaker Revel audio system.
The Nautilus was introduced with two available powertrains—a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a more powerful 2.7-liter turbocharged V6. Surprisingly, moving to the available higher-performance engine didn’t have an adverse effect on fuel economy, only knocking the combined EPA estimate from 22 mpg to 21 mpg. Front-wheel drive was standard, with the option of all-wheel drive on all trim levels.
