First generation Lucid Air
The Lucid Air debuted as a pair of high-power, decked-out models called the Dream Edition and Dream Edition Performance. They had a dual-motor powertrain for all-wheel drive, a 118-kWh battery, and 933 horsepower or 1,111 horsepower. Grand Touring and Grand Touring Performance models followed with less horsepower and a slightly smaller 112-kWh battery.
For 2023, Lucid started bringing the price down with the addition of Pure AWD and Touring models with 480 horsepower and 620 horsepower, respectively. Both had dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains. A less expensive Air Pure with 430 horsepower arrived for 2024 with a single-motor powertrain and rear-wheel drive. Lucid went the other direction in 2024 as well, introducing the 1,234-horsepower Air Sapphire with a three-motor powertrain that uses two motors at the rear and one up front.
The Air is one of the most advanced electric vehicles on the market. It has high-power axial-flux motors and a 900-volt electrical architecture for fast charging, and it offers vehicle-to-vehicle charging. It also delivers more range and efficiency than its rivals. It tops out at 512 miles of range.
