Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

For the current generation, the AMG GT is offered as a two-door coupe; the four-door sedan remains available but is based on the previous-generation car. Keeping that in mind, there are five power and trim levels available with the coupe, plus four more trim and power levels in the sedan body. At the top of the trim ladder are the AMG GT 63 S E Performance coupe and sedan models. These add a hybrid electric drive to the coupe and a plug-in hybrid electric drive to the sedan, on top of the turbocharged V8 engine and all-wheel drive.

The lineup also includes the AMG Pro coupe, which is a track-focused model with special lightweight and aerodynamic components. The entry-level AMG GT 43 coupe comes with a 416-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and the entry-level AMG GT 43 sedan includes a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine rated at 362 horsepower. All the GT 53, GT 55, and GT 63 models use a turbocharged V8 engine.

The first-generation AMG GT began as a two-door sport coupe but quickly added a convertible roadster, a version with extra-wide fenders and tires to fill them, and then four-door sedan models to the lineup. The original engine was a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, and that engine has evolved throughout the AMG GT production period. At first, the AMG GT was offered in just one trim level, but that also changed quickly as higher-performance variations joined the lineup.

By the end of the first generation in 2023, the AMG GT offered a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine or the twin-turbo V8, with power up to 577 horsepower and all-wheel drive across the lineup. The option packages and individual options available in any given year are far too numerous to cover, so each car should be evaluated as a custom-built model.
