First generation Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has been produced since 2011 in one continuous generation but with many changes over the years. The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and a more powerful 2.4-liter engine has been available on higher trims since 2015. Both engines are paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission, with the buyer's choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The Outlander Sport offers up to seven different trim levels, depending on the model year, and a wide range of tech and comfort features. As a rule, the newer the model year, the more tech and premium amenities are included. Buyers can choose an Outlander Sport with basic items befitting an economy vehicle or get a well-equipped model. Pay close attention to trim level and model year if a specific feature is important to you—for example, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ became standard only for the 2026 model year.
