Fourth generation Toyota Sienna
With its standard hybrid engine, the most modern Toyota Sienna is a great pick for anybody looking to save at the pump. But that's not all the Sienna has to offer. Like other minivans, there's plenty of space for eight people, including ample cargo space behind the rear seats. Driver-assist technology is standard on all trim levels, and the Sienna is also the only hybrid minivan available with all-wheel drive. Defying the pedestrian image of many minivans, the Sienna leans into luxury with its available captain's chairs that slide far to the rear and even feature an extending ottoman.
While the Sienna is great on fuel, it's not the best cargo hauler because its second-row seats can't be removed. It's also a little louder than other vans. Still, if you prioritize passenger space and comfort, plus fuel economy, the Sienna is a van worth considering.

Third generation Toyota Sienna
Toyota introduced the third-generation Toyota Sienna minivan way back in 2011, and it soldiered on until the 2020 model year. While that's an exceptionally long time for a vehicle to go relatively unchanged, it also speaks volumes for how fundamentally good the Sienna was from the outset. With plenty of room for up to eight passengers, a powerful V6 engine, and the only available all-wheel-drive system at the time, the third-generation Sienna boasts numerous strengths.
The comfortable ride quality and passenger accommodations remained competitive throughout its lifetime, and the Sienna impresses with available features like a lounge-style second row seat with an extending footrest and a power-folding third row. Later models incorporated Apple CarPlay® and Amazon Alexa™, along with many advanced driver-assist features. Newer vans tend to be quieter on the highway, however. Additionally, if you want to maximize cargo space, you'll find that the second-row seats are heavier and bulkier than those in many contemporary competitors.
