I love my encore BUT Carmax sold me a lemon, knew it and refused to help. I traded in my car that was completely paid off. This car only had 37,000 miles on it when I got it and within the first two weeks all of the tires completely busted open while on the freeway due to dry rot. I had asked my sales associate about it and he told me that the tires were fine and acceptable. So they sold me the car knowing that the tires were dry rotted. Then a few weeks following that The engine stopped working. Unfortunately I could not take it back at this point because I had driven over 1000 miles due to a one time work trip in California. I took the car in and the coils were completely eroded due to water damage. I was denied the warranty paying for that being told it Was due to me letting the car sit too long in water. How is that possible I have only had it for about four weeks. I pay $500 to get the coil rods replaced. Drive home and the check engine light comes on again and the car stops working abruptly while I am on the freeway with my kids in the back. I take it back in. Mind you Carmax had no available appointments for almost 3 weeks. I end up taking it to Buick and they said that my turbo is completely cracked And there are a bunch of hoses that are not attached or cracked as well. It takes them a while to get all of this fixed. By this time I have paid for a car payment for about three months and have not been able to drive The car I have been paying for. I have also had to pay for a new coil rod and four new tires and rental vehicles all too soon within having the vehicle. I got it back not long ago and now it feels like the transmission is going out, brakes are going out and engine is ticking when on. I have contacted Carmax multiple times with no help on anything. This happening over and over has caused me to have to lose days and days of work. So not only am I shoveling out money for a car I don’t have but I am also losing money because I cannot make it to work. I do not recommend Carmax at all. Especially the ones in Las Vegas! Rotten of somebody to do that to you! knowing that you had a reliable vehicle that was completely paid off, you have children that need to be picked up and dropped off at school and you’re a single mother who works graveyard at the hospital. if I can sue I will! 100% talking to a lawyer. the Buick is cute though, shell is immaculate.

The car fit my needs well and I have not problem with how it rides, handles, accessories and power. I do have a problem with the car only having 54k and a check engine light is on. Took to dealer and was told that several vehicles of my model were having the same problem and they didn’t know why. Advised me to drive until the light starts blinking. They also told me it was some type of lean code. This was highly disappointing for such a newer model vehicle. Now I drive waiting to be stranded somewhere. I will get a different vehicle soon.

I would not recommend this car to anyone. We have had it 4 months and is currently in the shop having the turbo repaired or replaced. It is under warranty. We are currently in a loaner vehicle, a two wheel drive Chevrolet Equinox, while our all wheel drive Buick is in the shop in the middle of winter time. I will not purchase another Buick Encore. I was advised by the Carmax mechanic that they had replaced 1,000 turbos on this type of car. When do they recall vehicles with chronic problems?
