Power
This truck has amazing power. 0-60 instantly! I live in Albuquerque and drive to Santa fe and back in a single charge even after running around doing errands all day. I also drove up to the Santa Fe ski basin. it gets about 1 mile/kWh going up the mountain without a trailer but averages out going back down the mountain. In summay, yes you can go camping nearby on a single charge. On average I get about 2.5 miles/kWh. I had to get a level 2 charger as the level 1 didn’t quite get to full charge overnight. I like to keep the battery between 20-90% charged and only go to 100% when I am taking a trip. I was surprised to find out that you loose range when it’s cold. so I get 250 miles in the summer and only 180 miles in the winter. Plenty of range for construction projects around town hauling lumber and construction debris. I got some great tax breaks for the level 2 charger install. it’s about $6k to run the 50Amp line and another $500 for the charger. I qualified for about $3k in rebates. BTW, you need a permitted project to qualify and you need a qualified tech to get it set up with ChargePoint so you can activate the high current capacity. Default limits it to 20A until a licensed electrician signs off.
Ride and Handling
This is the smoothest ride I’ve ever had. I think the center of mass is very low because the batteries are on the bottom. so you just glide above it. Excellent steering and braking!
Cost to Maintain
No repairs, no gas, no oil changes, … just the charger install.
