About The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Vehicle Summary

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 has been one of the most popular high-performance vehicles since it was first introduced back in the 1960s. This is not only due to the extremely powerful engine and the thrilling ride it provides, but also thanks to the beautiful design that allows it to stand proudly on par with some of the most coveted sports cars.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is a sports car that's best for those of you capable of keeping upwards of 500 horsepower under your control. It is primarily designed to appeal to the racing enthusiast in you, especially if you're someone who loves speed.

The track-ready, street-legal Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is famous for its incredibly powerful engines, high-performance limits, and a distinguishing capability to move around tight corners almost as fast as it does in a straight line.

Ford launched the first-generation Mustang Shelby GT350 back in 1965. It took several decades for the popular pony car's second generation to hit the streets; Ford reintroduced it in 2015 and is still in production today, with 2019 as the most recent model year of that generation.

In an effort to reduce the car's weight, Ford added some carbon-fiber components to the second-generation (2015–present) Shelby Mustang GT350. The 2015 model year was rated by Ford at 3,781 lbs, compared to the 3,900 lbs curb weight of the 2013 model. Also, the manufacturer revised the GT350's aerodynamics by adding a carbon-fiber front diffuser and rear spoiler, which complement the new MagneRide® adaptive suspension.

When it comes to the 2019 model year, it's distinguished by a 5.2L flat-plane crank V8 engine, delivering 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. According to Ford, this is the most powerful, naturally-aspirated engine on a street-legal car in the company's history. On top of that, it boasts custom Ford Performance-spec Michelin® Pilot® Sport Cup 2 tires for improved handling.

Trim Features

As a race-track ready counterpart, the Shelby GT350 has many characteristics that make it different from the standard Mustang, designed to improve power output, speed and acceleration.

For starters, the Shelby GT350 is equipped with a much more powerful engine. The engine on the 2019 model year is rated at 526 horsepower, eclipsing the 310 horsepower delivered by the base trim of the standard 2019 Mustang.

When it comes to suspension, the Shelby GT350 features re-tuned adjustable MagneRide dampers and a carbon-fiber, composite-grille opening.

The Shelby GT350 comes with a TREMEC® six-speed manual transmission as standard as well as a differential cooler. Some of the differences between the Shelby GT350 and other Mustang trims are visible from the outside, too. For instance, the 2019 Shelby GT350 features a lower hood compared to other trims in that same year and it inclines to the sides — giving it a sportier look.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is an exciting, powerful car that is ready to hit the track at any moment. If you are on the hunt for a good-looking performance car that you can run errands or go to work in, all with race car-level speed and power, then the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 may be the right choice for you.

Q: What is the top speed of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350?

A: According to Ford, the top speed of the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is 180 mph. The redesigned front end, including the lowered hood, as well as the new rear spoiler, are just some of the features that help this muscle car reach those speeds.

Q : Is the Shelby GT350 the most powerful Mustang?

A: One of the main reasons why people love to drive the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is the sheer abundance of power. Delivering 526 horsepower, the Mustang Shelby GT350 is certainly among the one of the most powerful Mustangs ever, but it's still surpassed by the 2013 Shelby GT500, for instance, which has 662 horsepower.

Q: Is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 being discontinued by Ford?

A: There have been rumors that Ford is going to discontinue the Mustang Shelby GT350 for quite some time now, but the company put those rumors to rest when it introduced the 2019 model year.

BULLITT , 'Nuff said ...

This is a GREAT limited run car , with an incredible backdrop story to it ... 20 years ago the movie BULLITT with the iconic Steve McQueen starring in it ... To commemorate the anniversary FORD came up a Retro-Mod look to their MUSTANG GT model , and boy they "nailed it" Dark Highland Green paint , CUSTOM tuned exhaust to mimic the movie car , most all identifiable factory badging removed , FORD Racing cold air intake , lowered suspension , are just a few of the rather cool cues to the "BULLITT MUSTANG" that make it "unique" and "rare" and YES it's factory tuned to MORE Horsepower than the stock GT ... What else can you ask for ??? Whether you are a McQueen fan or just a Muscle Car fan , this car has it !!!

Fun car, easy buying expierence

I bought this car mainly as a second car for fun, but also something I could drive every day. It fits that bill well. There's nothing like cruising with the top down with the sound of an American v8. The 5 speed manual is fun and the driving position is comfortable. If you want a car to get you and the family from point a to point b look elsewhere. If you want something fun with classic styling and a fun driving experience consider a mustang.

Great car.

Good handling. Lots of power for V/6. Quiet ride. Good gas mileage. Will get plus 30 if you hold it to 77 or below on the road. Had for 3 years and no problems at all. Bought used with 27,000 on it. At 85 it's only turning 2000 rpms. Hard to hold it back!! Wants to run on the open road!! If you push it on the open road to 85-90 on a trip the 30 plus can drop to 27. I'm 68 and love driving it. Top down and push that gas peddle.
