I have been driving this car for about a year and a half. It is a great car, but it is as I said a little car. The trunk is little and the back seat is little. On the flip side, the gas mileage is huge. I average 33-36 miles per gallon. If you are a single person, this is a great car to drive. However, my fourteen year old son doesn't find it very comfortable to ride in. As a result, he opts out of our errand trips, although that is not all bad.
Engineering is present where it counts. DOHC with variable valve timing plus 'sport mode' shifting. Premium gasoline plus full synthetic oil changes on the reg give me about 18 more horsepower than Hyundai says i should be getting. My creature comforts include back up camera and Bluetooth audio. Other cars in this class were all about 4 grand more expensive because they were different makes. Hyundai has done very well lately and quality has surpassed anything else they used to do. Also got 4 star safety rating and up in every test.
I bought my Elantra in 2003 brand spankin new, and all I have done is regular oil changes every 3k-5k miles and this car has never let me down! Its been all over california, to Legas, TO Arizona, and nothing but pure reliability and a smooth ride. This is a fantastic car. I have had MANY cars and MANY of them fell apart and nickel and dimed me to death.....this car has been a joy to own, if only it had a lil more leg room I would keep it forever.
