About Hyundai Vehicles
Vehicle Summary
Founded in 1967 and with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, Hyundai is one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world. Today, Hyundai is primarily known for its selection of sedans and SUVs, though the brand has delved into the luxury market with its branch-off Genesis label. In recent years, Hyundai has also released two all-electric vehicles and many hybrid versions of their most popular models.
The midsize Hyundai Sonata sedan is one of the company's top sellers, offering a spacious ride for up to five people and such standard equipment as a 2.4L four-cylinder engine at 185 hp (2017 model year), 16-inch alloy wheels, full power accessories, and Bluetooth® connectivity. Like many of Hyundai's more popular models, the Sonata is also offered with a hybrid engine.
The Hyundai Tucson is the automaker's compact crossover SUV offering, boasting a roomy interior and a 2.0L four-cylinder base engine at 164 hp in its 2018 model year. Other standard equipment on the 2018 Tucson includes stain-resistant upholstery, a five-inch touchscreen interface, and a six-speaker sound system. The Tucson is also available with optional all-wheel drive for additional traction and control on any terrain.
The Hyundai Genesis was the automaker's first attempt at a luxury sedan, which was released in 2009. Offering a standard 3.8L V6 at a whopping 311 hp and generous features like a rearview camera, automatic dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a hands-free trunk in its 2016 model year, the Genesis has a lot to offer. In fact, Hyundai saw so much success with the Genesis model that it branched off to become its own luxury brand in 2017. Meanwhile, Hyundai continues to expand its offering of cars and SUVs, introducing the all-new Hyundai Palisade for the 2020 model year.

Reviews for Hyundai
Fun, spacious, minor issues
I love that I have had it from April 2014 -July 2014 and have only had 5 fuel stops. Very roomy...bigger on the interior and longer than my Ford Escape. Trunk space is mostly taken by the Battery, but I still have plenty of room. A plastic Dog crate taken apart (top fits into the bottom) plus 3 suitcases, plus lots of nooks and crainies got us to the beach. The engine at the start of "take-off" sometimes has a hard time deciding if it should be in battery or engine, making the car herk and jerk bad. But it is short lived and the rest of the ride is smooth. Fuel efficiency is higher if you use the cruise control. Has heated seats, but I don't need that in NC. Going to look into changing them into AC seats.
Pros
- Cabin Noise: It is so quiet that I tend to speed.
- Fuel Economy: Filling up only once every 2-3 weeks
- Interior Space: I am 5'8" and my husband is 6'4". We have LOTS of leg room front and back, and head room
Cons
- Ride and Handling: Jerk start sometimes.....cant decide if it wants battery or engine.
- Cargo Space: Trunk has been taken up by battery. Instead of full size trunk, it is about the space of a compact car.
OVER-PRICED BY A FEW GRAND!
Economical car, that has a small gas tank and if driven slow a small footprint. However, I had to downgrade from my last car, QUITE SIGNIFICANTLY because of the price mark up. I was in an accident and the value of.my last car really didnt carry far enough over to the new car due to the large price mark up CarMax does for all the "services" they provide. Honestly, it was more hassle than help and only ensured that I went from a Honda to a Hyundai....the lesson? Don't get in car accidents!
Pros
- Fuel Economy:
Like Driving a Luxury Sports Car for Half the Pric
My previous car was a Kia Sorento which I loved but the gas mileage was not great. Wanted something that was classy yet good gas mileage. The Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T is fun, fast, classy and did I mention fun. Mine has the panoramic sunroof which I open every chance I get. And love the gas mileage - 22 city and 34 highway. Great car.
Pros
- Fuel Economy: Great gas mileage
- Power: The 2.0T turbocharged engine takes off when needed
- Styling: Looks like a much more expensive luxury sport care
