About Kia Vehicles
Vehicle Summary
Established in 1944, Kia is a car brand with headquarters located in Seoul, South Korea. Today, Kia is known for their lineup that includes a wide range of cars, crossovers, SUVs, and even a minivan. The automaker also offers hybrid, plug-in-hybrid, and electric versions of several of their vehicles, including the Optima and Niro.
The Kia Optima has been a staple of the Kia brand since its initial release in 2000; this midsize sedan offers comfortable seating for up to five people, as well as a standard 2.4L four-cylinder engine at 185 hp in its base LX trim (2018 model year). Other standard features for the 2018 model year include a seven-inch touchscreen display, HD/satellite radio, a rearview camera with parking sensors, and heated mirrors.
Those looking for a Kia with more seating capacity and storage space may want to check out the Kia Sedona or Kia Telluride. The Sedona is a minivan with seating for up to eight passengers, as well as such standard features as a 3.3L V6 engine (2018 model year), Slide-N-Stow seating, stain-resistant upholstery, and maximum cargo storage space of 142 cubic feet. Meanwhile, the Kia Telluride is an all-new full-size SUV model for the 2020 model year that also features seating for up to eight people and boasts an even larger profile than the Sedona. It comes with a 3.8L V6 engine at 291 hp and up to 87 cubic feet of cargo storage space.
Those interested in an electric vehicle may want to check out the 2019 Kia Niro EV, which is equipped with a 64 kWh lithium battery and electric motor rated at 201 hp—and gets an EPA-estimated 112 MPGe.1
In recent years, Kia has also begun to offer luxury vehicle options, including the K900 sedan. The 2019 K900, for example, includes a standard turbocharged V6 engine, leather upholstery, tri-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen interface, and a premium 17-speaker sound system.
From sedans, wagons, SUVs, and minivans to hybrids, electric cars, and luxury vehicles—Kia has a little something to offer for every driver's tastes.
1Range figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new. Range will vary based on things like battery age, vehicle condition, and driving conditions. Battery range may decrease with time and use. Unless specified, figures are for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. See fueleconomy.gov.

Reviews for Kia
Stylish and compact but has it's issues.
I expected a small car to have a much smoother ride. I have had non-stop problems with the brakes and random noises, belts breaking, etc. Coming from CarMax I was very shocked to have recieved a car off the lot with so many problems. I spent weeks taking it back and forth for repairs. The driver's seat is uncomfortable and the steering wheel does not adjust properly to accomodate a short person - which makes no sense for a tiny car like this.
Pros
- Styling: Love the shape and color.
- Value: Very affordable.
- Dashboard: Easy to read, well-lit at night.
Cons
- Braking: Non-stop brake issues.
- Interior Space: Not enough storage/compartments, leg room in the backseat.
- Seat Comfort: The seat controls do not allow for moving the seat up and down and the steering wheel does not adjust with the seat.
Fits our family of 4 just perfect.
This car was a great buy for what you get we got the LX model and we got the piano roof, blind spot detection and cross traffic detection, Leather also a V6 it gets better economy than a lot of other in class competition. And it looks great to boot. It is on the smaller side but that is one thing my wife loves about it, parking is a dream. With the seats down we got all our gear, on the hitch we had 4 bikes and on the roof rack we had 3 paddleboards. And the road trip went perfect, kids loved the in window shades.
Pros
- Value: Got a lot of features for the price and a newer year than the comparable Honda
- Ride and Handling: Seats are good stearing is super smooth
- Power: Plenty for what most people would need
Cons
- Cabin Noise: Nothing to special
- Cargo Space: It’s smaller than pilot and Highlander
Super smooth ride for a fairly decent price
This car is super smooth to drive and silent. The SX version comes loaded with a turbo engine and technically all the bells and whistles. Since it comes with leather seats the front ones can be individually heated/cooled and the rear one can be heated if needed. I've already drove it on 9 hour-long trips from Austin TX to Memphis TN and can't be happier with the performance, fuel efficiency, smooth drive and a great look that make people turn to see it. The only cons I personally have for this car are these features that I'd love to have in this car, however they were not a deal breaker: 1) It doesn't have the remote start feature. 2) The windshield wipers are not automatic. 3) It doesn't come with steering wheel heater/warmer.
Pros
- Cargo Space: Lots of room
- Technology and Entertainment: All cool features included: GPS navigation, Bluetooth connection, Satellite radio, rear view camera, individual air conditioning controls for driver and passenger, panoramic roof
- Cabin Noise: no noise at all
Cons
- Styling: It could have remote start, automatic windshield wipers and steering wheel warmer
