I have had my Soul for about 4 months now. I have really enjoyed it. It met my qualifications of sitting higher, cargo space for yard supplies, back seats that fold down flat, rear wiper, and arm rest. I got all these and more without the higher cost of an SUV.
This cute little car is more roomy than I ever thought possible and is great on gas. Being a smaller car, I was afraid it would be noisy and/or a bumpy ride. But it's been great. I love watching the MPG as it reaches 35 and higher. I'm filling up less often, for less money and still have a comfortable ride that's been dependable so far. They only semi downfall is I'm a little on the bigger side so I wish the seats were just a tad wider. But overall, I am 5'8", have three growing children (one being pretty tall for his age) and we all can ride comfortably. My brother is 6'4" and I was able to remain comfortable in the seat behind him as he was driving. Don't let the small appearance deter you from giving the "Hamster" a second look.
I really do like my "little Soul!" On the outside it looks so small but SO MUCH ROOM on the inside. We discovered this w/ 2 trips moving our daughter out of her dorm and into her apartment! I needed a "taller" car and have truly enjoyed my Kia Soul!....
The Kia Soul is a part of Kia's family of compact cars. Its bright personality led it to becoming one Kia's most popular vehicles. It has a boxy shape that actually makes it look a bit like a smaller crossover SUV.
The Kia Soul is a fairly young hatchback. When it was introduced, not too many angular, boxy cars were seeing success. Over the years, this compact car capitalized on its unique look and became an icon.
The Kia Soul feels composed and easy to drive around tight city corners, but could be more engaging and responsive to drive. The ride can be a little rough, so avoid bumpy roads to keep the drive enjoyable. The interior is at least fairly comfortable and most adults will find that there's plenty of space in the car.
There aren't too many boxy compact cars on the market; the Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Juke come to mind. The Kia Soul is more refreshing than anything else - it may be overlooked for its appearance and price tag, but the Soul has a good interior and exterior value. It gets the fundamentals right. The Kia Soul has done a good job of targeting drivers with its stronger style and brand. It hasn't really changed much in terms of looks and yet it still manages to stay attractive.
It's fairly fuel efficient, with a little room for growth. It simply falls short in a lot of areas that matter when comparing strict numbers between cars. It's a good starter car that meets basic A-to-B driving needs.
The iconic Kia Soul is a compact hatchback with a tall, squared body style. A redesigned version of the Kia Soul emerged in 2014, upgrading performance and interior comfort across trim levels. It looks a bit sharper and dynamic after a redesign. It has three trim levels:
Each has different engine options, feature packages, and transmission types. The top-of-the-line Kia Soul Exclaim has the best features offered and the strongest engine option: a turbocharged four-cylinder. It adds a bit of much-needed excitement to the lineup. Now, it has an engine option that can match its spunky personality. The car can have either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on preference.
The second-generation Kia Soul is equipped with a 1.6L four-cylinder engine standard on all base models. Manual transmission and automatic transmission are both available, depending on the driving preference. Soul Plus and Soul Exclaim trim levels have a 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which offers a bit more horsepower. The 2.0L can only be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Starting with the 2017 model, the Kia Soul Exclaim will also have access to a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired exclusively with a seven-speed automatic transmission. It's a meaningful edition that helps the Kia Soul compete with other compact cars outside of its segment.
The Kia Soul has an iconic style. It seats four adults comfortably. Though it has enough room for three people in the back seat, it may be a bit cozy. Still, the space in the compact car is used efficiently and the storage compartments are in useful spots. Inside, the car is simple and subdued.
