2021 Hyundai Palisade
Amazing family vehicle?

it’s great on gas, maintenance appears to be inexpensive so far, plenty of space for kids stuff, your junk, etc.

PROS
Technology and Entertainment

the only drawback is the Wi-Fi . it seems delayed. For example, the music seems delayed from the cell phone output into the CarPlay, not a deal breaker though.

Interior Space

I have 2 under 2 which means double stroller baby bag, having another car guest

Fuel Economy

great on gas, I don’t think I’ve ever exceeded $62

CONS
Value

maybe it’s the market but I never thought I would pay over $40k for a suv, but it’s worth it

Dashboard

sometimes the dashboard gets a little confusing. the CarPlay will disconnect and I will have to repair my phone several times.

Seat Comfort

I do not have a fully loaded Hyundai, so I don’t have seat warmers and the seat controllers are not all electric

Two Thumbs Up

Our older car was 12 years old with 158,000 miles and it no longer fit our needs. We wanted durability, reliability and comfort. Also we needed a 3 row SUV for the grandkids. we started looking at the Telluride but did not want to wait 4 to 6 months for one. So, we started shopping and found the Hyundai Palisade. After talking with the salesman and reading Motor Trend we learned that the Telluride and Palisade are essentially the same vehicle with some styling differences. Here is what we read in Motor Trend magazine “The Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade are built on the same platform. They have the same engine, with the same output, connected to the same transmission. They have the same number of seats, similar features and technology, as well as near-identical practicality.” After taking the Palisade for a test drive, we fell in love with the car. We love the styling of the Palisade and the roomy interior. I like the bold styling of the body and the grill. Makes me feel like I am driving a solid and powerful car. We appreciate the slightly higher position of the driver’s seat since it gives us fantastic view of the road. After driving the Palisade for 5 months, we still love the SUV. Also, the vehicle has plenty of room. We easily fit the grandkids with car seats and their parents in rows 2 and 3 and everyone had lots of legroom and space. Personally, knowing that the Palisade and Telluride are essentially the same vehicle, we made the best choice going with the Palisade. Comfort. Reliability. Style. Roomy Interior.

PROS
Interior Space

Plenty of room and room to spare for 2 car seats, 2 grandkids, our son, our daughter in law, a stroller, a cooler filled with lunch, and several stuffed animals.

Power

The V6 engine has lots of get up and go. I always feel like I can get out of any situation because of the Palisade’s power.

Value

With the comfortable seats, technology, dashboard styling, and smooth ride, I feel like I am driving a luxury car.

CONS
Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is not really a con. We get the gas mileage I expected. When we set the drive to economy and use cruise control we get excellent gas mileage.

Visibility

We love the back up camera and wish there were side cameras to increase the peripheral vision especially in parking lots.

Dashboard

Not really an issue. We wish some of the controls were easier to see and use.
