2010 Hyundai ElantraJohn Y - Santa Fe, NM05/18/2016
I've owned this car for one year now, and have had no major problems. I've put almost 20k miles on since I bought it. Routine oil changes and a transmission flush are basically all I've had to do, oh and new tires. I think I had to replace a couple belts recently too. Handles well enough in the snow with standard all-season tires. There isn't a lot of passenger room - two adults up front and a teenager in back is pretty crowded, but most of the time it's just me and the small children in car seats, and two car seats work okay. I definitely wouldn't want to try 3 though. I mostly use the car for commuting to work and it's great, good gas mileage (33 mpg average, mostly highway).
Good car for the model year at the price
2010 Hyundai ElantraMax Barlow - Prairie Village, KS04/29/2016
This car may not be the best looking or very stylish inside and out, but for a car at its price, it has great safety rating numbers, seatbelts, and a lot of different airbags that make it so (I can attest to the airbag and safety when I had this model before from 2010 until 2014 when it was totaled in an accident. It protected me well). It also gets great gas mileage, has a very roomy, comfortable cabin for its compact sedan size, large trunk space, Great stereo system and speaker volume balance, fog lights, chrome door handles, steering wheel cruise control and stereo system controls, Auxillary plug in for iPod or phone music, charging power jack, cigarette lighter, spare tire with jack and tools, and traction control. Not bad for winter .
My wife's Civic died unexpectedly, so we had to replace it. The Elantra had more bang for the buck than Civics, Corollas, Sentras and the domestic rivals. It is supremely comfortable, plenty of amenities, handles well, and is economical. As a bonus, it is very attractive. If you are in the market for an economical and reliable vehicle, don't overlook this gem. You will be pleasantly surprised!
