2014 Jeep Cherokee
Overall a very good car.
Overall, a pleasant car. Drives well, with the V-6 engine the power is more than adequate and the fuel economy is excellent. The transmission is the odd part of the performance picture. It has nine speeds, but it sometimes feels like it cannot decide which of the nine speeds is the appropriate one for the situation. There is a large gap in the lower gears, and sometimes it lurches when it downshifts at a speed just above idle as it shifts to a lower gear. Conversely, it is often lazy about shifting down a gear at higher speeds and it seems to lug a bit before finally changing down a gear. We have adapted to these behaviors, but I cannot say that we are really happy with them overall.

Good for road trips, good for family and plenty of space. Not considered a gas guzzler.

Great car, poor transmission
I really like the car, but am concerned about the transmission issue. It's being replaced under warrantee, but what happens after the warrantee period?
