Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.6 reviews) I bought the 2008 5.7L Hemi Limited. First, the things that may disappoint you: 1. Models like mine support bluetooth calls, but not music. 2. Throttle Response is slow. 3. You will get about 12mpg city and about 18mpg highway. The reason I bought this particular vehicle: 1. 5.7L V8 power 2. Tows up to 7,000 lbs 3. Comfort and Class 4. Nearly unstoppable (as long as you treat it well) Ask any Wrangler owner and they'll tell you not to buy this vehicle. That's because they're jealous. The 5.7L Hemi engine and super smart all wheel drive can pull a full load. Along a steep highway climb. In heavy rain. With the same confidence that it can cruise around town. And it will make you smile while doing both.

From the keyless entry system for the doors and hatch to the Bluetooth and navigation to the adaptive cruise. It just seems that Jeep thought this process through thoroughly. I continue to find new features that make me say........"How smart was that!" I need an SUV because I travel a lot so I need to haul around a mini household. To top it all off the vehicle is sharp looking!!!

FAQ

Q: How many can the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude seat?

A: The Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude is among those vehicles in its class with no third-row seat, limiting seating to five people. With two heated and ventilated front bucket seats and a rear 60/40 split fold-flat rear seat, everyone will ride in comfort, no matter how rugged the ride.

Q: What kind of fuel economy does the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude get?

A: The Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude only comes in a 3.6L V6 engine and four-wheel drive powertrain. However, the engine has gone through continuous development through the generation, which is why the 2012's EPA estimate of 16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined is a bit lower than the 2020's EPA estimate of 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined.1 The flex-fuel version, available from the 2012 model year's EPA estimate of 12 mpg city, 16 mpg highway and 14 mpg combined on E-85 saw improvements over time through the 2015 model year with an E-85 EPA estimate of 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway and 15 mpg combined.1

Q: How much can the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude haul?

A: Though the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine started out rated to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity when properly equipped, model years from 2014 through 2020 are capable of towing an outstanding 6,200 pounds, making it work very well for pulling a toy hauler, cargo trailer or small camper.2 There's plenty of space for non-towing hauling capacity as well, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude having 36.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and up to 68.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the second-row seat folded flat.

Q: What makes the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude stand out from other Grand Cherokee trims?

A: The Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude Special Edition has standard four-wheel drive, the powerful but fuel-efficient Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine, Nappa leather-trimmed and suede heated front seats, available remote engine start, a heated steering wheel, black accents, power liftgate, premium finishes and dark or black accent trims.3

Q: Are there any other special editions like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude?

A: For several model years that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude has been available, a number of other special editions have been offered, including the High Altitude, North Edition, Limited X and Upland special editions. These include their own feature packages in the same Grand Cherokee package you've come to know and love.

Reviews for Jeep Grand Cherokee

Overall Rating

4.4 out of 5(516 reviews)

Great Looks!

We upgraded from a 2000 Gr Cherokee Lmtd to a 2005 Lmtd. We love the exterior look of the Cherokee and the later model improved on those rugged, yet refined looks. Has all the options we could want. The thing that was lost in newer model year was interior room. I am 6'3 and have to tilt the seat back a bit to keep from head touching roof. Backseat has tighter legroom than older model also (which wasn't spacious either). Overall, still best looking SUV for the money out there, even if not #1 in practical dept. Also if want good gas mileage, look elsewhere.

Fun

Very pleased with my purchase. I bought the Overland model with the 5.7L Hemi. It is hard on gas. Don't underestimate that last point. The Jeep is a blast to drive. It's a big solid vehicle that still feels nimble. Leg room in the back seat is an issue for my teenagers but I don't sit back there much so I'm pretty pleased with it ;)

- BMO, 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Very nice car.

It has all the bells and whistles needed in an SUV. Handles nicely and lots of safety features.
