About the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara

Vehicle Summary

When you need a rough and rugged SUV to power your driving adventures, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is ready to deliver. This four-door, five-passenger SUV comes standard with four-wheel drive and is designed to venture off the beaten path. And when you're looking for a Wrangler model that's adorned with some extra creature comforts and features, the Sahara has you covered; this mid-tier trim is offered on all third-generation (2007-2017) and fourth-generation (2018-2020) Jeep Wrangler models.

On the third-generation Wrangler Unlimited, the Sahara trim boasts a 3.8L V6 engine at 202 hp, which is paired to eight a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission through the 2011 model year. Beginning in 2012, a 3.6L V6 engine at 285 hp adorned every third-generation Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, and this engine could be had with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. Inside the cabin, these Sahara models also offer 31.5 cubic feet of dedicated storage space—and a max of 70.6 cubic feet with rear seats folded down.

By the fourth-generation Wrangler Unlimited, the Sahara is positioned as the second-from-top-tier trim and comes equipped with the same 3.6L V6 engine from the previous generation. Four-wheel drive is still standard, and is a six-speed manual transmission. For this generation, however, an eight-speed automatic transmission also became optional for the first time when this model was sold. Another optional engine also made its debut for the 2018 model year: a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that comes exclusively with the eight-speed automatic transmission. If you're looking for a Sahara model with lots of power under the hood, look for a used model equipped with this motivated engine.

Fourth-generation Wrangler Unlimited Sahara models also offer a bit more storage space than the previous generation at 31.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and a maximum of 72.4 cubic feet with rear seats folded down. No matter which used Jeep Wrangled Unlimited Sahara you opt for, we think you'll enjoy this convertible SUV's rugged utility and punchy performance.

Convertible with the power of an SUV

Fun car to drive best enjoyed in Spring and Fall. A little higher than others and step rails not really functional but knew that purchasing the Jeep. Glad with purchase can't wait for our fall camping trip.
