The 2017 Kia Niro is praised for its excellent fuel economy, spacious interior, and user-friendly technology features. Customers noted its reliable hybrid performance but highlighted that acceleration feels weaker compared to some competitors. Noise levels and lack of certain features, like a power passenger seat, were minor drawbacks for some.
Mileage fuel, comfort and pick up speed
high and consistent
So far no Cons
It's so quiet inside, even when the gas motor is going!
I'm lucky to have free plug-in electricity at work, and I live only about 10 miles from work. I can easily make one tank of gas last for a full month, if not more (depending on weekend travel).
I'm 5'4" and my husband is 6'5". It's VERY difficult to find anything that fits both of us. Our Kia Niro is comfortable for both of us - he has plenty of leg and head room, and the adjustable (and "Driver 1" and "Driver 2" setting) seats mean that I am also comfortable.
I wish the passenger seat also had electronic controls for adjusting the seat. It's a small and tiny thing compared to how much I love this car overall.
Love it! Love it! Love it! Has all the latest gadgets, back up camera, adaptive cruise control, android/apple air play, safety features like lane departure warning, park assist, multiple air bags, wireless/wired phone chargers. But it is a plug in hybrid. So I can feel environmentally helpful about running in EV (all electric) mode while also not relying on the nonexistent charging stations in my area and using the hybrid mode when not on EV which saves gas. I typically get over 500 miles a gallon on full EV charge. I love how it drives, love the hatchback access to rear storage. It does a cool thing of turning the rear view mirrors into the car when locked so you can know at a glance if its locked or not. Bought it used so less than other plug-in hybrids on market new. Wish it had a few more miles on EV (typically on get 25-26 ) but this is enough to get me back and forth to work all on EV power if no side trips. The Kia app allows me to schedule the automatic recharge late at night when electricity is cheapest and it ready to go by the next morning. I just use normal 120 outlet to recharge and it takes about 5 hrs. Would recommend especially with high gas prices now!! Very comfortable and powered, highly adjustable seat for driver, passengers have more manual adjustments
plug-in hybrid so economical and more environmentally friendly than all gas car- can go over 500 miles on a tank of gas (about 11 gal)
I really have no con to this car but maybe the power - I transitioned from a V6 to this 4 cylinder so of course has less power but I didn't buy it to be a muscle car!! Just have to plan and leave a little more time for changing lanes quickly in traffic. But enough power if needed from the hybrid motor so not really any cons :)
