Love the drive. Amenities galore. Roomy. Great luxury and style.
We read many good things about the Mazda Cx-9, and it didnt' disappoint. We are very happy with it. Pros: It handles really well for it size, steering feel is excellent, and also has great power. We also really like how the interior is layout and it's simply very well-built. While not a huge fan of the smiley face, the cx-9 does have a very shape and looked very sporty. It is also quite spacious inside. Not as spacious as a Pilot, but still not bad at all. Bluetooth for phone is also included for all trim. Cons: The gas mileage is just average, but all the other cars in its class have similar number anyway. Also a common problem with most big SUV--rear visibility is limited by the 3rd row seats.
My wife and I have loved this car since we bought it. We traded in an Expedition because we no longer needed to tow a boat but still had four children to tote around and wanted something that would fit everyone. We looked at Minivans, and other crossovers and finally decided on this for a lot of reasons. It was cool looking, had great features including navigation, leather and power liftgate. It felt like we were sitting in a much luxurious car than frankly I would have expected from Mazda (sorry I underestimated them!), we liked it better that the Lexus or Infinity models of the same size. This car is very roomy and huge on the inside, but when you drive it it feels like you are driving a much smaller vehicle. It has good acceleration and is quick in lane changing. It has a smaller steering wheel, with a little bit of oversteer that makes it feel more like driving a sports car. We recently took this car from Virginia to Florida putting about 2000 miles on the car with 4 kids and luggage. It was a pleasure! We had enough room for our luggage behind the third row, but brought a Thule car carrier anyway and attached it to the roof that we really only used when we stocked up on groceries for the beach house on the way down to Florida. Some have complained about the gas mileage, BUT when compared to the 14 MPG we were getting from the Expedition the 22-23 MPG we have been averaging is a HUGE difference. It is an SUV after all. On top of everything else, this car was one of the highest rated across the board by Consumer Reports and has lived up to its billing. Mazda has built a great product in the CX-9 and all I can say is Zoom-zoom!!
