I've owned a Cayenne S for 3 years now. No maintenance problems - quality is very good. Vehicle handling is superb, the best among SUV's; it corners and accelerates better than most sedans. I also like the fact that it has traction control and electronic stability control, the latter being a really great safety feature that is finally being mandated in the US in 2012 on all cars. The car is rock solid on sketchy road surfaces - rain and snow. I wanted a vehicle that could carry 4 adults and 2 large dogs in the rear compartment and that has low-range and full-time four wheel drive (see awesome Youtube videos if you plan to go off road - excellent capability there). It fits my needs perfectly, but some other SUV's are larger if your space requirements are more than mine. Back seat leg room is very good. Rear seats go up and down easily for larger cargo carrying capacity. Like any larger SUV with a big engine, the gas mileage is not great, but I drive assertively. I average about 17-18 mpg, but have seen 22+ on the highway (following a semi). Inside is somewhat spartan (what do you expect from the Germans), but electronics and sound system (upgraded Bose) are excellent. GPS mapping system is very accurate. Pricey vehicle, but go buy it used. You get what you pay for: quality and safety.
Best car I ever had. I owned my Porsche for 3 month now and I love it. Best car for the money.
The power and torque are phenomenal. It's a drivers car. You can get a quick 0-60 in sport mode but where the diesel shines is on the highway. You can pull away from just about any car with ease. The Cayenne Diesel pulls with ease and the real worl fuel economy is better than advertised. I got 31.5 Mpg on a 288 mile road trip. Most importantly ! Porsche is giving away the CPO warranty 100,000K or 6yrs whichever comes first because of the diesel scandal. Yes giving it away just go and get your car serviced at the dealer so they can put you in the system. You'll get a letter from Porsche. I don't know how long that will last.
