About the Subaru Crosstrek
Vehicle Summary
As a crossover SUV, the Subaru Crosstrek is about as compact as they come. Still, the Crosstrek packs quite a punch in a small package, offering standard all-wheel drive and a surprisingly spacious cabin. Its ruggedness, utility, and practicality make the Subaru Crosstrek a popular choice in crossover SUVs.

2013 - Present Subaru Crosstrek Trim Configurations
The Subaru Crosstrek has a unique history. Prior to 2013, it was essentially the same vehicle marketed under another name, the Subaru Impreza. For the 2013 model year, the name changed to Crosstrek for North American models, and Subaru hasn’t looked back since. Still, there are some significant differences in trim and engine offerings across the fourth generation of Crosstrek that are worth noting.
2013 Trims
For 2013, the official vehicle name is actually the Subaru Crosstrek XV, which is available in two trim options:
- 2.0i Premium - 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, roof rails, full power accessories, a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth® phone connectivity and a convenient windshield wiper de-icer. Rearview camera, satellite radio, and touch-screen interface are optional add-ons.
- 2.0i Limited - leather upholstery, rearview camera and automatic climate control. Sunroof and navigation system are optional.
2014 - 2016 Trims
For the 2014 model year and beyond, the Subaru Crosstrek XV simply becomes the Subaru Crosstrek. This vehicle is available in four trim levels, including two hybrid trims that are new for the 2014 model year.
- 2.0i Premium - rearview camera, 6.2-inch touch-screen display with smartphone integration, heated mirrors, and heated front seats
- 2.0i Limited - leather upholstery, a larger 7-inch touch-screen interface, satellite radio, and hands-free text messaging
- Hybrid - keyless entry/ignition, a pedestrian alert system, LCD driver display, and leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Hybrid Touring - leather upholstery, sunroof, and infotainment system (including navigation)
2017 Trims
The Subaru Crosstrek hybrid was discontinued in 2017, though there are still four trim levels available in the Subaru Crosstrek 2017 model year.
- 2.0i - Bluetooth connectivity, touchscreen display with smartphone integration, and hill hold assist rearview camera
- 2.0i Premium - upgraded sound system, heated mirrors, and front seats, and cargo cover
- 2.0i Premium Special Edition - unique interior and exterior details, sunroof, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and keyless ignition/entry
- 2.0i Limited - automatic climate control, seven-inch touch-screen interface, leather upholstery, and upgraded gauges
2018 - Present Trims
The Subaru Crosstrek 2018 is totally redesigned with a new chassis that offers greater Subaru Crosstrek ground clearance, an upgraded engine and a more refined cabin.
- 2.0i - 6.5-inch touchscreen interface, smartphone integration, carpeted floor mats, rearview camera, and driver information display
- 2.0i Premium - heated mirrors and seats, Subaru Starlink™ system, Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert, and leather-wrapped steering wheel
- 2.0i Limited - larger 18-inch wheels for a smoother ride, adaptive headlights, larger eight-inch touch screen interface, automatic climate control, leather seating, and keyless ignition/entry
