Popular Trims
2008-2013-Third Generation Subaru Forester
In 2008, Subaru updated the Forester line to embrace a crossover SUV design. The 2013 Subaru Forester serves as a bookend for this generation, taking advantage of a half-decade worth of refinements. The 2013 Subaru Forester XT trims upgrade the standard 170 horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® to a faster 224-horsepower turbocharged variation. You can choose from six trim levels with the 2.5X, 2.5X Premium, 2.5X Limited, and 2.5X Touring all sporting the standard engine with the 2.5XT Premium and 2.5XT Touring featuring the turbocharged variation. Third generation models feature a standard five-speed manual transmission and an available four-speed automatic transmission.
2014-2018 (Fourth Generation Subaru Forester)
In 2014, Subaru released the redesigned, reworked fourth-generation Subaru Forester. This generation carries over the standard 170 horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine. Additionally, fourth-generation models feature an even roomier interior giving you more room for gear and groceries. The 2017 Subaru Forester features a mid-generation exterior style facelift with features like an aggressive front grille and restyled lighting fixtures.
The fourth-generation Forester is available in six trims with the 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Touring, and 2.5i Limited coming with the standard engine while the 2.0XT Premium and 2.0XT Touring trims feature the turbocharged engine. Fourth-generation models without a moonroof feature an increased 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space that expands to 74.7 cubic feet with the rear seat lowered. If you're looking to take advantage of four models worth of refinements, you should check out the 2018 Subaru Forester, which is the last of the fourth-generation models.
