What customers are saying

The Subaru XV Crosstrek is praised for reliability, fuel economy, and versatility in varying weather. Drivers appreciate comfort and handling, though concerns about underpowered engines and cabin noise are common. While advanced tech features are lacking in older models, it's a practical, dependable option with reasonable maintenance costs.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek
Great Car, the whole family loves it.

PROS
Ride and Handling

I bought this car for me, but my wife enjoys the riding and handling so much. I find she has taken the Subaru out more than her car that she use to brag about.

Weather Versatility

I drove my Subaru back east in some thunder and hail storms. The Subaru did not even flinch and drove through the bad weather like it was not even there. Other than visibility and a little rock from side winds, It was a pleasure and fun to drive when other cars were pulling over.

Cost to Maintain

We use to own a BMW, it was over $600 to do the 15,000 maintenance. On the Subaru, the 15,000 maintenance and service was less than $200.

CONS
Power

CVT & Cruise Control has some issues on very steep mountain passes (10% or greater hills), like reving up to 5000 RPMs before shifting up. Thank goodness it has the manual controls and paddle shifting. I can control the engine and speed better using the manual transmission mode on CVT on steep hills
