Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.529 reviews) We bought this vehicle to transport our very large Great Dane from Maryland to our new home in western Colorado. It has had an ignoble SUV life with no more challenges that !-95 could dish out. Well this truck was ready for action! We climbed Lands End Rd to the top of the Grand Mesa a week or two ago and I swear the truck was smiling the whole way. We have some challenging roads in Colorado (many too much for my wonderful Subaru Outback as I learned the hard way) and this vehicle can handle them. We may not do Engineer's Pass again this year but I know this truck could do it easily. I'm not a fan of Toyotas. I think, as a rule, they are stiff and boring to drive and the bodystyles are a total yawn. The 4Runner is a very nice handling truck and very comfortable to drive. We drive 1840 miles in 3 days and it was much less exhausting than I expected. I am very pleased with this vehicle in driving in civilization as well. It has a good "city drive" feel to it as well. The interior is very comfortable in the Limited Edition and thankfully this model year was not bogged down with silly electronic devices (I raised 4 kids without a DVD player in the car and I think its ridiculous to numb your kids with drivel at every opportunity but that's just me). Everything has worked beautifully since we brought the truck home. We plan to put many miles on this truck before its all said and done. And I anticipate being as pleased with the truck as I am today.

Not the best for running around town in since it is built on a truck chassis and the ride is rather stiff. The quality of materials and build quality are outstanding. I also have a 2004 Acura MDX and the 4Runner is much higher quality in all categories except for ride comfort. I have purchased a number of vehicles from CarMax and found them all to be very good vehicles but you pay 1-2 thousand dollars more than when purchasing from an individual.

Looked for a long time for this car!

- Laura Turner, 2013 Toyota 4Runner

best of both worlds

The 4 Runner is the most perfect blend of reliability, spaciousness, durability, and style. When searching for a car, many SUVs were too big or too small, or poor reliability, very poor gas mileage and/or poor value. The 4 Runner does not have ideal gas mileage, however not as bad as other SUVs. It's not too big that I need to worry about trying to fit into parking spaces either. I've had my '06 SR5 for about a year now. I am creeping up on 90k miles. No major issues whatsoever, expect for some front-end alignment, and needed to have the struts replaced. (That was all covered under the carmax 30 day warranty.) Anyway, I think the previous owner was a little harsh on the vehicle. The A/C pumps frigid in the humid south, 4WD works great on the snow and on the beach, the acceleration is great, nice ride, and great handling. The icing on the cake is the electronic roll-down back window. Yeah, its nice to ride with the back window down, however it's actually very convenient when making a quick grocery run, or hardware store. The key fob allows you to roll down the back window with the push of a button. This gives you access to the entire back of the vehicle for quick loading or removal. The back seats fold flat, which turns the vehicle into a flatbed for hauling of larger items. Also has aux input for Iphone/Ipod/MP3.

4RUNNER

Excellent vehicle...can't say enough good things about it. Drove a Cadillac for many years, thought I would miss the luxury, but needed the 4Runner for my outdoorsy weekend lifestyle. I don't really notice or miss what I gave up, other than it does ride/drive like a truck. Other than that, it has a very capable V6, the styling is a perfect combination of sporty and classy. I found it to be very accommodating, even for my 9'6" surfboard. Toyota quality through and through. I am very happy that I made the right choice. Thought I needed something a little bigger, I didn't.
