My family uses a different one, but the kids like to ride in the Avalon because it goes fast. I don't really like the radio. It is not as "smart" as I would have expected (this is the reason for the 4 star rating). All in all, it has a lot of room, quick, leather interior, and the radio sounds great despite its shortcomings IMO.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Red Average Vehicle Review: (0 reviews) The backseat doesn't fold down, the clock cannot be set to a 24 hour clock (the US is the only country that uses a 12 hour clock), you cannot re-arrange set radio stations nor delete ones you've set, the leather on the seats is a poor quality and just within 4 months I have had to put a seat cover to prevent further deterioration, I had factory installed Remote Start which starts inconsistently...is only set for 10 minutes (I want 20 so the ice would actually melt)....and the car turns off as soon as your hand touches the door handle; I'm told that's a safety feature but I've had remote starts before and unless you have the key fob the car would turn off as soon as you step on the brake to put the car in gear (not THAT'S security!)

It has power to spare, has plenty of options and takes the turns and straights like a charm. I have absolutely no complaints as this was a very good, well thought out purchase. It handles good and plenty of space and leg room. I am 6 feet tall and i have no problems anywhere in this car even in the back seat, which also has reclining seats which is nice. All in all a great buy with plenty of options to grow with and beautiful styling... Just buy it you won't be disappointed

Hands down this model and year is the best car. A smooth and comfortable (luxurious) ride. In addition, it is a beautiful car. Unfortunately I did not like the models beyond 2012...too small. I get compliments every where I go (most can't believe it is a 2012 model). Found a jewel!

The Avalon has turned out to be the perfect car for me. Prior to this, I have only owned Chevorlets and did not like most foreign, non-luxury cars. I like roomy bigger model cars and most imports were either not big enough or to expensive. But, the Avalon has great space in it and is a great buy.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.546 reviews) Recently purchased an Avalon LTD after doing a comparison test drive with other Toyota models. Have been confirmed Camry owner since 1983. This car is my new favorite. Has every bell and whistle you could desire while still being a responsive drive. Interior room is amazing but the car does not feel any bigger than an older model Camry. Gas mileage matches my old V6 Camry in town (20-22mpg) and actually hit 30 mpg on the open road. Lots of power -- but engine is so quiet I actually forgot to turn it off once.

Toyota Avalon Hybrid vs. Other Hybrid Cars

Hybrid sedans have become a popular option for those looking to cut down on stops at the pump. A few of the Avalon Hybrid's biggest competitors include the Toyota Camry Hybrid, Lexus ES Hybrid, and the Toyota Prius. Read on to explore some of the similarities and differences between these comparable hybrid models.

Toyota Avalon Hybrid vs. Toyota Camry Hybrid

The Toyota Camry Hybrid saw a total redesign for the 2018 model year, making it a top contender in the midsize hybrid sedan category. The main differences between the 2018 Avalon Hybrid and the 2018 Camry Hybrid come down to standard features; the 2018 base trim has less luxury features than the Avalon, but offers front-wheel drive and a choice of eight exterior colors. The 2018 Camry Hybrid does get an EPA-estimated 52 mpg combined in its base LE trim with 2.5L engine and electric motor.1

Toyota Avalon Hybrid vs. Lexus ES Hybrid

The 2018 Lexus ES Hybrid, also known as the Lexus 300h, strikes a balance between luxury and fuel efficiency. It is only available in one trim configuration, but standard features are generous and include everything from a sunroof and keyless entry/ignition to simulated leather upholstery, a rearview camera, and dual-zone climate control. Additional packages, such as the Navigation package, Premium package, Luxury package, and Ultra Luxury package, allow for an even more elegant driving experience.

Fuel economy between the 2018 Avalon Hybrid and the 2018 Lexus 300h is nearly identical, with the 2018 300h getting an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined in its standalone trim with 2.5L engine and electric motor.1

Toyota Avalon Hybrid vs. Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius has been a household name in hybrid vehicles for years; the 2018 Prius comes in a whopping seven trim configurations. Unlike the Avalon, however, none of them fall into the luxury category. As such, the base One trim on the 2018 Prius is pretty bare-bones. Standard features include 15-inch wheels, automatic climate control, and keyless entry for the driver's door only.

Fuel economy on the 2018 Prius, however, is better than the 2018 Avalon Hybrid. The 2018 Prius base trim with 1.8L engine and electric motor gets an EPA-estimated 52 mpg, compared to an EPA-estimated 40 mpg on the 2018 Avalon Hybrid base trim with 2.5L engine and electric motor.1

1Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates when vehicles sold as new. Fuel economy may vary for reasons like driving conditions and vehicle history. Unless specified, figures are for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. See fueleconomy.gov for details.
