Great reliable car.
2008 Toyota Highlander HybridIsla - Harlingen, TX07/15/2014
This car was a good purchase. It is comfortable and reliable. I have taken it in for routine maintenance, but never needed to take it in for problems. The bluetooth feature is great. The navigation software leaves much to be desired. It functions properly, but I bought a Garmin because it is easier to follow. I use the auxiliary feature for my iPod so I can access the car speakers. Tire were not in great shape at time of purchase; had to replace them in first 3 months of purchase. This is not a Toyota problem; just something in carmax to be aware of when shopping.
didn't know what to expect
2007 Toyota Highlander Hybridslick - San Antonio09/04/2007
I bought my Highlander in January of 2007. I was expecting something close to the MPG estimates of 32 city and 26 hwy. What I am getting is an average of 24 both city and hwy. I have never achieved 30 MPG anywhere. I get excited when I get 26 in the city, where most of my driving occurs. I guess I expected more. It dosen't make much difference how you drive it, slow and cautious or regular with starts and stops like everyone else, I still get 24 MPG. I talked to the dealer and got no satisfaction, just a bunch of double talk about how mileage estatements are figured. I like the car, but I wish they would be more forthright in what you may expect in real time mileage.
