About 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid

Vehicle Summary

For fun-loving singles, couples and small families that need a daily driver or want to enjoy the great outdoors, the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid delivers exceptional results. Providing solid fuel efficiency, the hybrid engine/electric motor in the Rav4 is capable of delivering an EPA estimate of 34 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.1 Designed to reduce outside noise, vehicle vibrations and harsh operating, Toyota has created a smooth family ride that does just as well on the backroads as it does on city streets and interstates. Available power liftgate with jam protection ensures that little hands don't get hurt, while an improved cupholder design means you can get your big cup of coffee in place for an overnight drive - handle and all. The available bird's eye view camera makes it easy to get into and out of small spaces with a 360-degree view of your surroundings. Multiple drivers with different preferences? Available two-position memory, heated seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support keep everyone happy.

FAQ

Q: How many people can the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid seat?

A: As with many compact crossover SUVs, during the development of the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid, the third-row seat was left out of the design. Q: What's the history of the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid?

A: As the company that produced both the first hybrid as well as the first compact crossover SUV, it's not much surprise that Toyota combined the two in the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid. Standing for "Recreational Activity Vehicle: 4-Wheel Drive", the Rav-4-Hybrid grew out of the initial Rav4 electric vehicles that were offered in the first and third generations.

Q: What are some key features of the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid?

A: The 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid has a range of standard features you might not expect, including three 12V power outlets, hill-start assist, trailer-sway control, tire pressure monitoring and electronic on-demand all-wheel drive with intelligence. Q: How much can the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid haul?

A: Don't think just because it's a hybrid that the 2016 Toyota Rav4-Hybrid can't help you move. When properly equipped, the Rav4-Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds.4 Behind the seats, you can pack up to 35.6 cubic feet of cargo, while laying the rear seat flat provides you with an additional 35 cubic feet of cargo space, totaling 70.6 cubic feet of hauling space.

Generation Overview

Covering model years 2013 to 2018, the new Rav4, including its new hybrid version, was unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. Rather than continuing with V6 engines, the new lineup included only inline-four engines, including the 2.5L inline-four Atkinson cycle gasoline engine used in the hybrid. With a 204-cell nickel-metal hydride battery for energy storage, front-wheel and all-wheel drive drivetrain options, a secondary 50 kilowatt high-voltage motor to power the rear wheels, and a rear liftgate. The 2015 model year included a facelift, with redesigned headlamps and tail lamps, updated speedometer and a full-color TFT multi-information display, revealed with the 2015 Rav4-Hybrid at the 2015 New York International Motor Show.
