bought one of these a few months back and it has exceeded my every expectation. The fuel economy in the 5 speed is awesome, worst I can get is 37mpg and it usually at least 40. There is enough room for adults in the back for regular trips. The hatchback is awesome and allows me to transport all I need. I added a tow hitch and an aftermarket stereo. This car rocks, it is a blast to drive and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This is enough car for 90% of the population.
I Purchased my Yaris about a month ago from Car Max. To date, I have had no issues with the car. I am averaging about 32 mpg during reqular travel to work, around town and the occasional trip to NPR or Orlando. I haven't usd it for a long road trip yet but expect the milage to increase without all of the stop and go traffic. I love not having to fill up every week and the car handles well. I enjoy the color, sort of a smoke grey and the car looks good. One problem I see is that the seats are designed for very thin people; so if you have a big bottom or are wide, it may be a bit uncomfortable and take a few weeks to get used to. Another thing that took some getting used to is when you first start the car, there is a light that reads "cool" that comes on, on the dash. At first I was concerned, but it goes off within a few seconds and I realize it is justletting me know the engine is still cold. This could b be invaluable in the colder states. There is a bad blind spot at the spots where the door closes on both sides, which can make checking traffic a bit hairy, but as long as you realize it is there, it is good. Get up and go is sometimes a bit sluggish, but it is a small car and I expect that. With that being said though, it can sometimes get hairy pulling out into fast traffic. Sound system is adequate. Overall: I love my Yaris and am enjoying this car.
I really enjoy the 2008 Toyota Yaris sedan that I purchased. So far, it has delivered all of the quality, dependability, and fuel economy that I expected. It is a FUN Commuter auto. I enjoy driving it. For a small economy car, it has a nice ride, very roomy, and has nice performance for this type car. I am getting approximately 38 mpg for mixed city/highway, and strictly highway I am getting almost 44 mpg. For a commuter car, you CANNOT go wrong...The Yaris is a Winner !!!
