I was initially a little reluctant to go with a VW, but it has been one of the best automotive decisions I have made in a while. The bluetooth connectivity, including audio streaming, the sd card slot in the dash, the huge sportwagon trunk, and a massive panoramic sunroof; this car is packed with features. The one disappointment was the absence of a homelink feature. I went from a Volvo turbo that got 21mpg average to this VW that is averaging 41! In times like these, who couldn't use that kind of savings? The move from premium unleaded to diesel is almost no price difference, and to get almost double the mpg, seems like a no brainer to me. The performance of the diesel is surprisingly peppy, and even more like a regular fuel engine with the DSG automatic. I have suggested this model to anyone I know that drives a lot of highway miles; it is the best in class for storage and miles per gallon, the hybrids might do better on mpg, but they don't have the storage capacity to accomodate large objects like hockey bags, etc.
2010 VW Jetta TDI
2010 Volkswagen JettaVetlaw - San Antonio, Texas06/13/2011
This is my second VW TDI (other was a Passat) and am thoroughly pleased with the vehicle. There is a huge range on mpg figures depending on speed and traffic conditions but I am averaging 40-55 mpg. It has great performance although there is a slight lag when you first take off. The Jetta has great performance, outstanding handling and braking and is very roomy for a small size sedan. It has a large trunk and the overall quality is impressive.
My 2008 Volkswagen Jetta Se has been absolutely amazing. Being a five seater, four door sedan, road trips have never been better with all my friends. And to top it off, the gas milage has been great! Buying this car from CarMax was one of the best decisions I have made in my 20 years of living.
