5 reasons to buy the 2014 BMW Z4
1. Engine options
Each 2014 Z4 trim gets its own turbocharged engine option, which should make your powertrain decision all the easier. The sDrive28i base trim has a turbo 2.0L four-cylinder setup, capable of 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Sending that power to the wheels is a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, while rear-wheel drive is standard across the board. Choose the sDrive35i for a 300 hp, 3.0L turbo six-cylinder engine, while the sDrive35is gets a re-tuned version of the same 3.0L turbocharged inline-six, delivering 335 hp via a seven-speed automated manual transmission.
2. Retractable hardtop
Come rain or shine, the 2014 Z4 offers all the curb appeal you need. For dry and sunny days the power hard-top retracts gracefully in seconds, connecting you to the natural environment or buzz of the city in slick convertible style. At all other times, the Z4’s hard-top roof provides a refined coupe-like silhouette, adding a sense of insulated serenity to your cabin experience.
3. Inviting interior
The interior dimensions and upscale material finishing of the 2014 Z4 create a pleasing sensory experience. Deep-set front bucket seats with height-adjustment capability, eight-way power comfort adaptations, and 42.2 inches of legroom ensure even your tallest friend or family member can enjoy riding with you. Throughout the cabin, soft-touch leatherette or real leather upholstery in rich natural shades of beige, brown, red, or black, envelop the interior, setting a warm and welcoming tone for you and your passenger.
4. Trunk space
Say yes to that shopping spree at the mall; the 2014 BMW Z4 convertible has enough trunk space, even with the roof down. With the roof up the trunk provides 8.0 cu-ft of storage capacity, suitable for trip luggage, a sports bag for the gym, or shopping. The retractable roof doesn’t take all this space away. While it is reduced to around 6.3 cu-ft of usable space, the trunk remains functional for day-to-day use, has access to the Z4's trunk pass-through for longer items, and can still manage that weekend getaway luggage.
5. Standard features
This luxury drop-top offers an extensive list of features for its 2014 sDrive28i base trim. For your enjoyment and ease behind the steering wheel you have keyless entry and ignition, cruise control for highway driving, and Bluetooth® connectivity for hands-free calling, all as standard. Your entertainment is assured too, since this setup also includes a six-speaker audio system, with HD Radio, CD player, auxiliary jack, and USB port, all presented in a fuss-free, intuitive front console.
