Infiniti QX55
The Infiniti QX55 was the QX50’s sporty-looking sibling, featuring coupe-like styling with a fastback roofline, enhanced by the unique “piano key” taillights and standard 20-inch wheels. While it shared its chassis and turbocharged engine with the QX50, the QX55’s shape reduces rear-seat headroom and cargo space, giving it slightly less utility than its stablemate. The QX55 was available in three trim levels, offering high-end features like semi-aniline leather seats, open-pore wood accents, tri-zone climate control, and a dual-screen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay® and wired Android Auto™ integration. All trims came standard with Infiniti’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system and a full suite of advanced driver-assist systems. It was discontinued after the 2025 model year.

First generation Infiniti QX55
It may have the same underpinnings as the QX50, but the Infiniti QX55’s sleek lines and coupe-like styling give the crossover a sportier, more aggressive look, clearly influenced by the original Infiniti FX. Designed to compete with models like the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, the QX55 sacrifices some interior space and utility to achieve its sleek, stylish profile. That said, the interior is still quite comfortable, with sufficient legroom for front and rear passengers. The standard dual-screen infotainment system features an eight-inch display up top and a seven-inch display below, and while there are benefits to the unique system, it was starting to show its age by the end of the run in 2025.
With the same engine as the QX50, the QX55 features the innovative 2.0-liter variable-compression turbocharged four-cylinder engine. While the engine offers promise with 268 horsepower on tap, the Infiniti’s continuously variable transmission isn’t very responsive, taking away from the QX55's overall performance.
