The Infiniti QX55 makes a stylish impression among small luxury SUVs
The 2022 Infiniti QX55 was new this model year, featuring a slinkier shape than its mechanical near-twin, the QX50. As has become increasingly popular among SUVs of all shapes and sizes, the QX55 boasts a roofline that’s tapered and meant to impart a sporty and youthful appeal. Sure, it looks good, but keep in mind the more square-shaped QX50 has more cargo-toting capability.
A 268-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder and a continuously variable automatic transmission with standard all-wheel drive get the QX55 down the road. Acceleration is peppy, but the transmission lacks refinement and the ride can be too firm over rough surfaces.

What We Like
Standard luxury SUV features: Compared to many rivals, the QX55 is a solid value thanks to its ample roster of features. They include wireless Apple CarPlay®, wired Android Auto™, heated front seats, a moonroof, a power liftgate, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Cargo space: The news here is better than you expect from an SUV that prioritizes style over practicality. Behind the second row is 26.9 cubic feet of trunk volume, a reasonable amount that betters a number of rivals, and enough to handle more than 30 grocery bags with ease.
Standard all-wheel drive: Unlike the QX50 which comes standard with front-wheel drive, you get all-wheel drive on every version of the QX55. It’s great to have when the weather doesn’t cooperate, or simply to maintain grip and control on the road.
What Needs Improvement
Infotainment system: The dual-screen infotainment system looks and feels outdated, especially given that the QX55 is all-new for this model year. A single-screen arrangement would be a more logical solution and feel more modern.
