1. Drivetrain options 

If you want feel-good everyday driving, you’ll love the 2022 Z4. Offering rear-wheel drive as standard and two turbocharged engine options, you can be sure of an engaging drive — be it the daily coffee run or a more exhilarating country drive. The sDrive30i base trim is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine, delivering 255 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque. By comparison, the M40i packs an even bigger punch, with a turbocharged 3.0L six-cylinder engine producing 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque.  

2. Great soft-top 

This drop-top epitomizes luxurious convenience, and nowhere more so, than in its soft-top roof operation. If a storm approaches unexpectedly, the 2022 Z4 roof can be raised at a standstill or low speeds, in around 10 seconds, at the simple touch of a button. The material used is thick enough to create a cozy ambiance in the cabin for you and your passenger, with no need to raise your voice to be heard.  

3. Infotainment tech 

Beyond its classic roadster silhouette, the 2022 Z4 has plenty of modern technology conveniences for you to enjoy while you’re cruising through town. Heading to that new coffee shop across town? Follow the directions given by the Z4's built-in navigation system. Use your time in commuter traffic to listen to your online playlists or favorite podcasts via Apple CarPlay^® or Android Auto^™ smartphone integration. 

4. Surprisingly spacious interior 

While its overall dimensions are typical for a two-seater convertible, you’ll still be impressed by the roomy passenger cabin. Generous interior dimensions mean even your tallest companions are comfortable, with 38.9 inches of headroom and 42.2 inches of legroom to play with. The low-set bolstered sports seats offer height adjustment settings, and for personalized comfort, 10-way power comfort settings too. Swapping driving duties on a longer trip? Pleasingly, the 2022 Z4 also has two memorized driver seat settings.  

5. Available packages 

It's worth identifying a 2022 Z4 equipped with one or more of the available packages or stand-alone options, as they unlock a bounty of different treats and upgrades. Two different Premium packages, one for each trim, add nice perks like heated front seats and ambient lighting (for the sDrive30i), or a head-up display and remote engine start (M40i trim only). Standalone add-ons worth looking out for include a 12-speaker Harman Kardon^® audio system and adaptive cruise control functionality.
