The modern Chevrolet Trailblazer is a subcompact SUV that slots between the even smaller Chevrolet Trax and larger Chevrolet Equinox. If you think the Trax is too small for your needs, the Trailblazer could be just what you need. It's a bit larger in every dimension and carries more modern styling and features. This affordable small SUV offers available all-wheel drive and your choice of two turbocharged engines. There are several trim levels, so you can balance features you want with the price point you can afford.

First generation Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Chevrolet revived the old Trailblazer nameplate for this all-new subcompact SUV in 2021. The new Trailblazer is available in a frugal and fuel-efficient base trim that features a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or a more potent 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. Chevrolet offers several trim levels, including an Activ trim designed for unpaved roads and camping.

For daily use, the Trailblazer offers seating for five, provided the three in the second row are smaller people. Behind the second row is 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space, enough to be useful. For trips to the big-box store, the rear seats fold down and yield an impressive 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space. Finally, the Trailblazer comes with a long list of standard driver-assistance features, including lane departure assistance and both pre- and post-collision assistance.
