2016 Dodge Grand Caravan review

1. Roomy ride 

The only problem with owning a minivan is it’s hard to tell people you can’t give them a ride. You can easily fit six of your friends in the 2016 Dodge Caravan thanks to good legroom and headroom throughout the vehicle. With 40.7 inches of legroom in the front seat, 36.5 inches in the middle seats, and 32.7 inches in the rear seats, everyone can stretch out. Headroom for the driver and passenger clocks in at 39.8 inches, 39.3 inches for those in the middle seat, and 37.9 inches for the third row. 

2. You like a nice motor 

The 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan features a 3.6L Pentastar^® V6 engine with 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It’s a solid, reliable engine that has plenty of power for everyday cruising around town. It also has enough pickup to help get up to highway speeds, even when you’re faced with short onramps. The Dodge’s engine has the power to get you to appointments faster when you’re running late. 

3. Plenty of space 

The vehicle’s Stow 'n Go^® seating options are in all trims except the AVP model and allow all the second rows to fold flat into the floor with the pull of a lever. The third row can be folded backward and stored in a cargo well. When all of the seats are up, you still have 33 cu-ft behind the third row. If all of the seats are stored away, you have 143.8 cu-ft.  

4. Nice towing abilities 

Got junk? Or nice recreational vehicles and small boats you want to take out? The 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan’s optional tow hitch can drag an estimated 3,600 pounds with the V6 when properly equipped.

Whether you’re helping a friend move, hauling work equipment, towing recreational vehicles, or have other heavy-duty transporting needs, this feature is nice to have as an option. Various factors may impact towing capacity, including the weight of passengers, cargo, and options/accessories. 

5. Featured tech options 

The standard entertainment has a four-speaker audio system, auxiliary jack, and a CD player where you finally have a place to listen to your old disks! Some of the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan trims to look for include Uconnect^® Hands-free Group packages with Bluetooth® and phone connectivity. Some have 17-inch alloy wheels and special upholstery and trim. Others have DVD/Blu-ray systems, touchscreen audio systems, HDMI inputs, and more USB charging ports which will keep tech-hungry backseat passengers satisfied.
