The Genesis GV70 debuted for the 2022 model year, adding a sporty compact SUV to the Genesis luxury lineup. The GV70 is designed to compete with European heavyweights such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Porsche Macan, along with premium Asian models like the Acura RDX and Lexus NX. The GV70 is a compelling contender from Hyundai’s premium brand. Outfitted with either a turbocharged four-cylinder or a turbo V6 engine and featuring an upscale interior wrapped in attractive styling, the GV70 delivers a flawless luxury experience paired with sporty performance and world-class refinement.

First generation Genesis GV70

The GV70 almost looks more like a hatchback than an SUV. It has a low, sporty roofline and passenger car stance for improved aerodynamics. With seating for five passengers in two rows, the GV70 provides a spacious luxury interior with soft-touch surfaces and modern amenities. Notably, there’s a huge 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system mounted on the dashboard, replaced in 2026 with an even bigger 27-inch combination display spanning most of the dash. Both Android and Apple smartphone integration is standard.

Buyers can choose between a standard turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or the available turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 for more power. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are included with both engines. Standard equipment also includes LED headlights, a hands-free liftgate, heated front seats, and a wireless charging pad. Available convenience features include a 360-degree surround-view camera system, leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats.
