2014 Scion xB review

1. Funky and unique styling 

The 2014 xB is a compact car with a big personality and its unique and eye-catching styling sets it apart from most other cars on the road. The boxy, squared-off roofline matches the bold front end, complemented by chunky wheel arches and a van-style rear end. You can also have your 2014 xB in a choice of seven exterior colors, including bold tones like Absolutely Red, Sizzling Crimson Mica, and Nautical Blue Metallic.  

2. Cavernous interior 

The 2014 xB’s boxy styling isn’t just an aesthetic choice. It also provides impressive cabin space inside, with a total of 110.9 cu-ft of passenger volume on offer. There’s seating for up to five passengers, and with 40.7 inches of front seat legroom and 38 inches of rear seat legroom, all occupants have plenty of space to stretch out and make themselves comfortable.  

3. Large cargo space  

The 2014 xB backs up the spacious passenger cabin with an equally generous cargo capacity. In the standard configuration, 21 cu-ft of cargo volume is available behind the rear seats, meaning everything from the weekly grocery shopping to the family luggage is accommodated with ease. Should you need to transport bulky items like furniture, the rear seats can be folded down, expanding capacity to a useful 70 cu-ft.  

4. Spritely engine 

While your passengers will appreciate the comfort and space inside, you’ll enjoy the punchy engine and good acceleration it provides behind the wheel. Under the hood of every 2014 xB is a 2.4L four-cylinder engine, producing 158 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, and paired to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Put your foot down away from the lights and prepare to have some fun, as you go from zero to 60 mph in just 8.6 seconds.  

5. Numerous tech options available 

With two trim levels and numerous extra accessories available, there’s sure to be a 2014 xB ideally equipped for you and your needs — particularly if you enjoy your tech and in-car entertainment features. Standard on base models is a six-speaker Pioneer^® sound system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen display and USB/iPod^® interface, as well as Bluetooth^® connectivity. A premium BeSpoke^® sound system with smartphone app integration and a rear-seat entertainment system are also available.
