The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is a roomy three-row SUV
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander marks the debut of this stretched-out version of the Toyota Highlander. It adds 4 inches of length, giving it a third row that's more adult-friendly than the regular Highlander's. The Grand Highlander is also available as a hybrid, delivering an EPA-estimated 36 mpg combined.
But a longer body isn't the only difference between the Grand Highlander and the Highlander. Its interior is more refined and the ride is more comfortable. While an extra 4 inches of space between the front and rear wheels may not sound like a big difference, it translates to an extra 5.5 inches of legroom for third-row passengers, in addition to boosting cargo capacity from 16 cubic feet to 20.6 cubic feet.
The Grand Highlander also has a larger, more user-friendly screen. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard features along with advanced driver aids like front collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot warning.

What We Like
Passenger space: All three rows are adult-friendly without sacrificing cargo space. The available second-row captain's chairs are nearly as comfortable as the driver and front passenger seats.
Storage: The 20.6 cubic feet of storage behind the third row is nearly as much as you'll find in the Kia Telluride (21 cubic feet). But the Grand Highlander's impressive storage capabilities extend to the whole cabin. With the second and third rows folded, you get an impressive 97.5 cubic feet of storage.
Standard tech: Advanced driver aids like collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are standard features on every trim level. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is also standard on all trims, an improvement on the 8.4-inch screen that's standard in the regular Highlander.
What Needs Improvement
Outside noise: It's disappointing that so much wind and road noise makes its way into the cabin of the Grand Highlander. The engine can also be noisy when you're driving up steep hills.
