- The Touareg is available in a new trim called the Wolfsburg Edition.
- The Lux, TDI Executive, TDI Lux, and TDI Sport trims have been discontinued for 2017.
- The Executive trim now comes with Bluetooth Technology as standard equipment.
- The Sport trim now comes with Automated Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Heated Steering Wheel, Lane Departure Warning, Parking Sensors, Rear View Camera, Smart Key, Tow Hitch, and Navigation System as standard equipment.
