2022 Volvo V90 Cross Country review

With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive, the V90 Cross Country is ready for your adventures. While it’s not a full-bore rock crawler, it can handle rough terrain like a dirt path to a remote campsite. It’s also ready for inclement weather like deep snow and gives extra stability on slippery surfaces like sand and gravel. 2. Well-integrated technology 

You’ll find Google tech front and center in the V90. Use your Google account for maps, music, navigation, and more. You can use the system without a Google account, but the experience will be limited. Many other interfaces that used to be buttons and knobs have moved to the infotainment system, so there may be a learning curve as you figure out how to adjust the temperature. 

3. Numerous driver assist features 

The V90 Cross Country offers a full suite of advanced driving aids, including the standard Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system that uses adaptive cruise control to maintain a consistent distance from the car ahead. Pilot Assist also helps you keep the car in the middle of the lane and will follow lane markers in a curve. The standard forward collision mitigation and evasive steering assist work together to help the car avoid an impending collision by applying the brakes or steering away from it. Also, the V90 can read road signs–it displays road sign information in the digital gauge cluster to help you keep track of speed limits and warnings.

Whether you’re planning a weekend camping trip, going antiquing, or just making the warehouse grocery run, the Cross Country has the space available. With the rear seats folded, there’s 69 cu-ft of cargo space. The rear seats fold electrically, so it’s easy to use. It’s family-friendly, too, as installing child seats is a snap. If you want to haul more, the V90 Cross Country can tow an estimated 1,650 lbs without trailer brakes or an estimated 3,500 lbs if you have trailer brakes — both with the standard engine when properly equipped.

With the mild hybrid drivetrain, the EPA-estimated fuel economy for the all-wheel drive V90 Cross Country is 25 mpg combined (22 city/30 highway).
