5 reasons to buy the 2018 Volvo V90
1. Lots of space
If you’re looking for something spacious but don’t want an SUV, the 2018 Volvo V90 should be on your list. With all seats in place, there’s 53.9 cu-ft of space but the rear seats fold to open up more capacity. There’s also a pass-through in the back to allow for carrying longer items such as skis. You’ll also get 42.2 inches of legroom in the front while backseat passengers get 35.9 inches.
2. Upscale interior
Volvo does understated luxury well. The interior design is well thought out and the infotainment system is well integrated into the whole experience. If you want a little added luxury, look out for the Inscription trim, which comes with heated and ventilated seats.
3. Polite on-road manners
The V90’s driving characteristics center around comfort, but it will still easily keep up with traffic when needed. With an array of driver-assistance features, you’ll find long drivers easier than ever. Look out for the Pilot Assist package, which combines adaptive cruise control with steering and lane-keeping assist systems to offer semi-autonomous driving.
4. Off-road capability in a wagon
There are two versions of the Volvo V90. The standard wagon is a practical daily driver for commuters and families but if you like to head off the beaten path, look for the Cross Country model. It’s similar in many ways but you'll get standard all-wheel drive. Keep an eye out for one of these if you want added confidence in inclement weather or just fancy the extra ground clearance and grip.
5. Ocean Race trim
The new-for-2018 T6 Volvo Ocean Race trim (Cross Country models) adds some striking visual changes to an already good-looking wagon. You’ll get 20-inch wheels, white paint with orange accents, front parking sensors, air suspension, and so much more. If you’re all about style, another good option — that’s perhaps, easier to find — is the R-Design, which has its own striking interior and exterior features as well as heated and ventilated front seats.
