Generation Overview

Unveiled at the North American International Show in Detroit in 2015, the second generation of the Audi Q7 was initially released with a 3.0L TFSI gasoline engine capable of generating 328 hp and 328 lb-ft of torque as well as a 3.0L TDI turbo diesel engine capable of producing 215 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, though sales were limited in the US. A 2.0L TFSI engine was added in the 2016 model year, which remained with the 3.0L TFSI until the 2019 model year. The second generation retained much of the bulky style with new headlights, redesigned taillights and a large hexagonal grille, while the interior saw a major redesign and addition of significant amounts of technology with LED lighting, a horizontally-oriented dash, additional soundproofing and redesigned seats for superior comfort.
