This is a good truck for the money. I have the diesel 6.0 that is been facing some injector problems and according to the mechanics at the ford dealership is the reason why they changed the engine. The warranty covers everything til you reach the 60.000 mile for free. After 60.000 miles you have a 100.00 deductible.
The truck has some great brakes and doesn't get scared for any load. It is solid and well built, it is no kids toy... Drives nicely and visibility is a plus. The looks are great and the gas mileage is good, 15 mpg inside town. I do not understand why ford didn't use the positraction!
Great truck inside and out.
Not happy with the engine, I am not trusting it for long. I had the dodge diesel and the chevy diesel. This is the best truck with the worst engine?!
2005 Ford F250 Diesel Lariat

Completely happy with the truck. Gas mileage as mentioned by others is around 15mpg with a combination of city and freeway. Towing no problem, don't even know my trailer (8000 lbs.) is even back there and the fuel mileage is the same. Plenty of room! Back seat area is huge. Wish there was some power outlets in the back for the kids stuff (It's there on the 2008) but overall the fit and finish is good (not up to european cars, but good). It rides smooth and is very quiet can't hear the diesel once moving. I have the short bed and it's a bear to park though. Considered a long bed and I'm very happy that I didn't get the extra length, especially when trying to get in any parking stall.
I have the Lariat package, leather, Captians Seats, wood grain, etc. Very basic for the upgrade, but it's a truck and seems just stylish enough for my tastes. Power adjustable pedals that I though would be an assume feature have been so, so. Really no consernable difference for my height (6'2") when I adjust them up or down.
I also have the built in brake controller and the tow/haul transmisson. These are excellent features and would not pass this up if your doing any towing.
23,000 miles so far and no problems.
Why didn't I do this sooner?

I've wanted a diesel for years, absolutely love the quality of this F-250. This is my first Ford truck, owned a Dodge gas engine for 11 years and finally traded in on this diesel. The towing power is unbelievable and the Lariat edition I feel like I'm in a luxury car. The 6.4 L was only in production a couple of years but I think it will rival the 6.7 just fine. It's guzzles a little fuel (average 10.9mpg city) however the engine is only at 15k miles so it hasn't broken in yet. My only complaint is that I can't find enough reasons to drive it more often! Glad I finally broke down and just bought it.
A truck can offer the perfect blend of utility and power. The sturdy truck bed carries all the tools needed to get a tough job done, and the engine and its torque can help tow all the equipment. With that in mind, different trucks have different towing options. Whether it’s towing for work or the family vacation, here are seven used trucks that excel at pulling their weight.
