2013 Ford FocusRichard Bowen - Zanesville, OH09/29/2016
We have had our car into the dealer 4 separate times now and the transmission is still messed up. The dealer has told us that it will always be bad and now the car only has 40,000 miles and the air conditioner stopped working. We have tried contacting Ford for help and they told us too bad.
Gets the job done
2014 Ford FocusK Sadler - Chicago, IL04/25/2016
The car has some weird kinks about it. My main concern since ownership has been the hesitation when accelerating. The manufacturer explained the car has been designed with a clutch feature- but to me it just feels like the transmission is failing. The car jerks EVERY time I accelerate and even after maintenance to minimize this, it seems to have gotten worse. There is no quietness about this car, the engine runs loudly and radio seems to be blasting when only leveled at 4. The car is great on gas though, I only fill up about once weekly.
Good car, bad transmission
2013 Ford FocusBayley Walker - Tucson, AZ06/27/2015
The Ford focus uses a dry clutch with a combination of manual and automatic transmissions. I started experiencing issues with the clutch a month after purchase. Turns out, my very young car with under 40,000 miles needs a new clutch. Dug around and it's a very common problem and there is currently a class action against ford because of the clutch and transmission issues. My car has issues shifting, making it scary to drive.
