Popular Years
Third Generation (2011-2018)
The 2013 Ford Focus helped rid you of parking stress by taking advantage of the active parking assist alerts that let you know when a parking space becomes available. Then take your hands off the wheel and let the Focus take control and steer your car into the parking spot. You assist by shifting gears and manipulating brake and accelerator controls as needed.
The 2014 Ford Focus maintained the 2.0L four-cylinder engine capable of 160 hp and 246 lb-ft of torque. Opting for the electrical version increases that number to 105 mpg.
When the 2015 Focus became available for sale, it brought about a revamp of the Ford Focus exterior, including the front and back fascia, hood and grille plus the rear tail lamps. Ford also made new Appearance and Sports Packages available for the SE model. You can also enjoy upgraded driver-assist features with the addition of a rear-view camera on all models. The Titanium trim also provides you with traffic alerts, lane-departure warnings, and park assist.
The 2016 and 2017 models continued to provide drivers with the benefits of the improvements made in the 2015 Ford Focus. You can still select from four different trim models for sale and enjoy perks like parking assistance, touch-screen controls and available Wi-Fi capabilities.1 2018 also introduced the ST and RS packages to the line, each with unique style features.

Reviews for Ford Focus
Love Carmax, Hate my ford.
Everyone told me not to buy a ford and now I see why. I was sold on the car for the sync and bluetooth and the fact it came fully loaded for an entry level car but I have had problems since day one! My TPS is always malfunctioning and after 5 trips to Carmax and 7 to ford i've had enough. It slides on certain types of roads to the point that I rear-ended someone because my car slid when I hit the brakes, the tires no matter what kind you buy never grip the road properly. Once you pass 60mph, it moves but its an eternal process to get to 60mph in the first place. The cabin noise is awful. My brakes already need to be replaced 13k miles in and this car retains zero value. I will never buy a ford again. Going to carmax today for a new car.
Pros
- Technology and Entertainment: Bluetooth and Sync are great
- Styling: Its a pretty car, especially in grey. Love the colored accent lights
Cons
- Braking: Brakes are shot only 13k miles in
- Cabin Noise: I hear literally everything on the highway
- Fuel Economy: I live in Miami, I need power to drive and to get this car to move it uses so much gas. Only getting 21-22mpg
2013 Ford Focus
Overall great value for the money you're going to spend. There are a few cons being that the back seat doesn't have a lot of leg room, and the transmission is a bit touchy, seems to always be idling to try to find the right gear to get the best mileage and take off is a bit slow. Pros for the car are its sleek design, the sync technology is awesome, but hard to get to know how to use. The hatchback is great for cargo space and the gas mileage is awesome.
Pros
- Dashboard:
- Fuel Economy:
- Ride and Handling:
Cons
- Interior Space:
- Cabin Noise:
- Visibility:
Love my car
I love my car it’s practically new but the transmission is weird and I wish I had done more research on the model and its history of transmission issues. I haven’t needed any work on the vehicle or it’s transmission but there are some minor issues when I would rather not be experiencing any and those may need work later on in my ownership of it. The car shifts itself smoothly but will shake sometimes when accelerating from a stopped position like people have said in their experiences with this model and year. The transmission seems to labor more while shifting the longer it’s being driven. Often times it revs just a little higher to shift to the next gear which is cumbersome in stop and go traffic when driving short distances.
Pros
- Ride and Handling: Excellent ride and handling it hugs corners when I make sharp turns instead of shifting its weight
- Fuel Economy: Both city and long distance gas mileage is excellent
- Power: Gets going anytime I need to be speedy
Cons
- Technology and Entertainment: The sync system is annoying for playing music from my phone. Bluetooth doesn’t automatically connect music but does connect for phone calls automatically.
- Cabin Noise: There is minor noise coming in from the outside but on smooth and new roads there is hardly any
- Dashboard: The dashboard buttons don’t really offer many options which is disappointing given a screen display and toggle buttons.
