Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.5 reviews) I love that this is a plug-in hybrid. When I am city driving, I run it as electric only. Even with just 23-27 miles on a charge, I can run errands or to/from the train station. I literally fill my gas tank once a month or less now. It's room and comfortable on the inside. Has all the bells and whistles I would expect from a 21st century vehicle.

Reviews for Ford C-Max energi

Overall Rating

4.6 out of 5 (10 reviews)

Great car, avg 90+ mpg on electric

Great vehicle, especially if you drive less than 10 miles one way to work -- we are averaging 90+ miles per gallon going to work each day on full electrical power. Also, vehicle is very comfortable and fun to drive for a hybrid.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy:
  • Cost to Maintain:
  • Technology and Entertainment:

Best car decision I've made

I love that this is a plug-in hybrid. When I am city driving, I run it as electric only. Even with just 23-27 miles on a charge, I can run errands or to/from the train station. I literally fill my gas tank once a month or less now. It's room and comfortable on the inside. Has all the bells and whistles I would expect from a 21st century vehicle.

Pros

  • Cabin Noise: Very quiet to outside noise
  • Fuel Economy: Getting approx 60 mpg when braking efficiently, switching between EV and Hybrid mode
  • Styling: Great looking vehicle, lots of interior space

Cons

  • Cargo Space: battery takes up a large chunk of rear storage.
  • Ride and Handling: Turning radius is terrible.

- Lisa Ferron, 2014 Ford C-max energi

Not bad for first model year.

Yes, but barely over the Toyota Prius. I give the nod because this is an American-made automobile. Fuel economy has never met claim by Ford (40/45) which is typical in first year model Hybrids. My MPG has fallen consistently between 35-38.

Pros

  • Dashboard: Well crafted dash with easy to use/read controls & alerts. Hands free bluetooth/voice activated controls useful. Interesting data provided to review fuel economy/power etc.
  • Interior Space: Adequate space for 2 adults + 3 kids in back seat.

Cons

  • Fuel Economy: Fuel economy 10-20% less than stated by Ford.
