About the Ford EcoSport

Vehicle Summary

So, you are seeking a compact ride with good ground clearance, a ton of personality, a flexible interior, and one that features more than a few perks. The Ford EcoSport may just be the SUV you crave. Able to slip into small spaces, its hatchback swings to the side so you can reach all the way in when you have packed the back full of your shopping bags or camping gear. With premium features such as heated seats, a power moonroof, and enough power outlets available on most trims to charge all the things, you will be pleasantly surprised at the Ford EcoSport's ability to cater to your whims and needs.

This compact yet perky car first appeared for sale on dealer lots in 2018 ready to steal the show with up to 10 color options that stand out in any crowd. The first vehicles that rolled off the line included a compact spare tire mounted on the hatchback, bringing back memories of rugged off-road vehicles in a vintage setting. For 2019, Ford made minimal adjustments to the successful launch such as upgrading the premium infotainment center and changing up the upholstery in the SES. Ultimately, it has the elbow room for up to five and a versatile hatch ready to work or play with you all week long.

small but worthy

I was hesitant at first because it’s a small SUV. I wondered if it would fit all of my needs. However, I find that it is great on gas and it does have lots of storage. But my favorite….. is that the trunk opens like a door which is great for short people like myself.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy:
  • Technology and Entertainment: cool screen in the middle which is great
  • Reliability:

Cons

  • Braking: Seems a little light in snow and ice
  • Cargo Space: again, not a huge Amount of space
  • Weather Versatility:

uncomfortable/nothing but issues

I would not recommend this car. This car has been nothing but issues since my purchase and already I’m thinking about trying to get in for something different. when I make a purchase on a vehicle I plan to keep it for many years. My last car (BMW) I kept for 12 years. This car I wouldn’t even keep for more than two months I’m already looking to purchase a different vehicle. The first week after my purchase it was already in the shop for maintenance. Four different things had to be fixed on it in less than three months! It’s nice to look at but unreliable and uncomfortable.

Pros

  • Power: I like the way that it looks and the power that it delivers. Other than that, this car is complete trash.
  • Styling:
  • Technology and Entertainment: Apple Car play

Cons

  • Cost to Maintain: It’s always in the shop
  • Cabin Noise: It’s been making a noise since the purchase of the car and somehow they don’t know how to fix it and they act like they don’t hear it. It’s very annoying and the only way for me not to hear it is to turn up the radio loud.
  • Interior Space: There is virtually no space in that car. The only space that you have is in the trunk.

Great 1st car for anyone

If you are looking for a 1st car and do not have need for a lot of space, if you are single with no kids, or one small kid, this is car is perfect.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: rides very smooth and easy to handle.
  • Technology and Entertainment:
  • Power:

Cons

  • Interior Space: smaller than I thought. I know it is a midsized SUV but thought it would be more roomy. Feels like the size of a compact car .
  • Fuel Economy: do not get a lot of mileage on gas for the size of the vehicle.
