With the Transit we were able to widen the horizon for our vacations and weekend trips. In 6 months, we were able to do 2 beach vacations, two weekend trips and a camping excursion. Even regardless of this being our family vehicle, I commute to work everyday in the van. Surprising great of gas mileage, around 16-17gpm. Bad side to it, I have to drive everyone to lunch. Overall recommendation...GREAT! If you are afraid of the size, don't worry...drives like a car and the rear-view camera help with my own fear. Also very easy for the "wifey" to drive.

About the Ford Transit 350

Vehicle Summary

If you’re looking for space and hauling capacity, check out the Ford Transit 350. You can find versions of the Ford F350 designed to carry anywhere from five to fifteen people. That means potentially never having to contact a car rental agency again when you are ready to take a cross-country trip with your friends and family.

Ford Transit 350 Generation (2013-Present)

The first-generation Ford Transit 350 is the fourth iteration of the Ford Transit, which first made an appearance in 1965. Ford made it possible to pick from three different roof heights and lengths to accommodate passengers or other cargo within the vehicle. Buyers can look for versions holding anywhere from eight to 15 passengers.

Engine and Configuration

You can find the Ford Transit 350 in either a van or wagon configuration for model years 2013-2019. Both come standard with a 3.7L V6 engine with twin independent camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) technology meant to optimize engine combustion.

You can give yourself extra hauling capacity by locating a 2013-2019 Ford Transit 350 with a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. Are you looking for an engine with more flexibility and endurance during stop-and-go traffic? Find a 2013-2019 version equipped with a 3.2L Power Stroke I-5 Turbo diesel engine. The addition of quick-start plugs gets you cranked up quickly even in temperatures below -10⁰ F.

Comfort

Do you have friends and family gifted in the height department who groan at the thought of crunching up in the backseat for a long ride? The 2013-2019 Ford Transit 350 comes in three different roof heights, meaning you can look for one with enough space to accommodate taller passengers. You can also look for various seating configurations that best suit your everyday riders.

You can adjust the steering wheel to suit your preference level thanks to the tilting and telescoping steering column that comes standard in every 2013-2019 Ford Transit 350. Transit 350s from the XLT Trim level for 2013-2019 come with rain-sensitive windshield wipers that come on automatically when the first drops hit your windshield, immediately giving you a more unobstructed view of the road.

Backing up under challenging conditions is no problem thanks to the rearview camera that comes standard on Ford Transit 350s from 2016-2019. Some models even provide you with a full-colored view from a higher vantage point.

Great Van

We do educational programs with birds of prey and this van allows us to carry multiple birds along with equipment to various locations across the Eastern U.S. It is comfortable and for its size, gets fairly good gas mileage (ranging from 16-24 MPG). We have made several long trip in this vehicle and are very pleased so far.

Pros

  • Styling: We have been needing a bigger van and we liked the look of the Transit.
  • Technology and Entertainment: We utilize the Sirius Satellite Radio and the Bluetooth and USB options. There are many power ports as well.
  • Power: We have the 3.7L and it is pretty peppy, enabling us to rapidly accelerate onto the highway.

Cons

  • Weather Versatility: Rear wheel drive is a con when dealing with snowy conditions.

- John Stokes, 2017 Ford Transit 350

Best vehicle I ever purchased

I would recommend this van for any family or business that has to transfer many passengers around. This van seats 12 passengers, it's good on gas, its a smooth ride and its very stylish. I love it!

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: Its pretty good on gas. Its a 6 cylinder.
  • Cabin Noise: Its very smooth running and quite.
  • Interior Space: Seats 12 and has plenty of trunk space.

Cons

  • Visibility: Hard to see through back windows.
  • Weather Versatility: The windows don't open in the back for the passengers. We have to rely on the a/c all day everyday.

Why settle for a Micro-Van?

Exceptional value for the money! I have a family of 7 and this van is great for any circumstance.

Pros

  • Safety: Big and bad!
  • Interior Space: Room for 12 and with stuff.
  • Value: Less than any 3-row seat vehicle out there!

Cons

  • Styling: It's a giant van...not a sports car!
