About the Genesis G80
The Genesis G80 was introduced as an all-new luxury sedan for the 2017 model year, offering a spacious interior and a smooth ride. Since its release, this full-size sedan has come standard with such features as leather upholstery, automatic dual-zone climate control, smartphone integration, and a large eight-inch touchscreen display.
Under the hood, the G80 is offered with three brawny engine configurations: a 3.8L V6, a turbocharged 3.3L V6, and a 5.0L V8. If you're looking for a luxury sedan that doesn't skimp on space, standard features, or power behind the wheel, be sure to add this one to your list of contenders.

Q: Who makes the Genesis G80?
A: The G80 is made by Genesis Motor, which is the luxury division of Hyundai. Before Genesis branched off into its own luxury brand, it was the model name for Hyundai's first luxury sedan.
Q: What mpg does the Genesis G80 get?
A: Fuel economy for the G80 can vary based on a number of factors, including model year, engine configuration, and whether the vehicle is rear- or all-wheel drive. However, the 2017 G80 base trim with 3.8L V6 engine, automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg combined.1
Q: Is the Genesis G80 a luxury car?
A: Yes, the Genesis G80 is considered a luxury/executive sedan.
Q: Does a Genesis G80 require premium gas?
A: Fuel requirements will vary based on engine configuration. For example, the 2017 G80 with standard 3.8L V6 engine runs on regular gasoline, whereas the 5.0L V8 engine does require premium.
1Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates when vehicles sold as new. Fuel economy may vary for reasons like driving conditions and vehicle history. Unless specified, figures are for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. See fueleconomy.gov for details.

A 3.8L V6 rated at 311 hp and a 5.0L V8 at 420 hp have been consistently offered for each model year, though the turbocharged 3.3L V6 engine was not introduced until 2018. All G80 models come standard with rear-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive is optional on both V6 trims.

It is like owning a European luxury car with all the bells and whistles, and then some, but at a lower price! This car is amazing and should the time come when I have a repair bill, it won’t break the bank like expensive German cars that I was interested in.
